Feedback on new site thread

This is what I'm getting top and bottom currently (nothing mid-thread).

As you can see, it's a fair proportion of the screen being taken up on a normal, sub 6 inch screen.
Is there not a setting in the ad serving that can limit the size? Half that vertical height would at least show some of the content in the first post.

The mid thread stuff is not there at the moment. There were two different types of them before I think. Obvious adverts or adverts that looked like posts.

I think that people might feel that the adverts at the bottom are mid-thread. Whereas they are actually below the last post on the page. However they are above the reply box. This is pretty intrusive.

Some good news after a dark day at Oakwell. We've been beaten badly and there's 170 people using this forum and it's holding up to the traffic.

Rob, I get that you have to make an income but dont understand why this site needs more ads than the old one, esp when you consider pagination of threads should see users giving multiple impressions of ads per post va the old forum being one big long page on every thread with just ads at the top and bottom?
If this site is making less, it’s surely just because the guests and search engines have not yet discovered it and that will follow with time? Ideally with a redirect from the old forum to here to shove traffic from A to B.

I see that the very irritating ads between the last post on a page and the reply box are still in the same place. Not below the reply box.

Is that better, for the position of the lower advert?
I need to look at this over a few days now to assess, I think.
On both my phone and my PC I am not seeing any lower advert at all. I would be very happy to see it if it helps with your income. Just not above the reply box.

I notice a bit of a bug on the site. If I look down the first page and open a couple of threads on tabs. When I read them and decide to post I have to log in as normal to post. (For some reason I am not staying logged in on MS Edge on my PC even though it is set to keep me logged in). Then when I go to the next thread and decide to post it is still showing as not logged in. When I click on the log in button it tells me I am logged in and takes me back to the main page and I have to find the thread all over again.
By then I have usually forgotten what I was going to post.

I've not noticed that I'm logged out on Edge on my laptop asred. Mind, I don't open multiple tabs. I'll try it and report back.

I've just posted this from from one of several open tabs and i am logged in on all of them.
Log out go to the main page. Open a couple of threads. Go to one and log in from there as though you are going to post. Go to the next thread you opened. Is it still showing as logged out. If so click on it to log in and it takes you back to main page. Let me know the outcome please. I think it's an Edge error as it's not remembering passwords.

Right, have done that and logged in on one of the tabs. When I go to another tab it says I'm logged out, but when I try to log in then a shade drops down saying I'm already logged in. It doesn't take me back to the main page though. If I refresh that tab it does show me as logged in though.

My irritation is the use of the back button in firefox on my PC. It does not request a refreshed version of the page. It just gets it from the cache. I keep having to refresh it manually. I will have to train myself not to use the back button.

One thing I like about the old site was all posts on one page.
Can you make it a user setting or if it is already, direct me to where I can select that?
