Forced into a police escort, and the police were braying Boro fans just for chanting.
Quite an experience.

Spoke with the Driver. Direct there, direct back.Presumably a direct service with no other stops.
Great idea, don't understand why it's not advertised.
09:30am train for us. Hoping that it stops at St Peters too, although it's not scheduled to so may have to walk from the city centre.
If it's a scheduled service it won't. Sunderland station only.

Unlestheye driver is given a stop-order.
The special leaves at 10:10, Rob, not 10:30.Got some details about this - fault with communications was Northern Rail - they didn't let anyone know.
Anyway - 1st train leaves 9.30am
2nd - direct train leaves at 10.30am and has a 400 capacity - it will arrive at St Pauls 10.57am - 10 min walk from there to turnstiles. SIX turnstiles open.
Return trains - special leaves St Pauls at 14:41 - police and stewards will ensure everyone makes that.
Next train has been diverted to stop at St Pauls at 14:48pm - normal service back to Teesside.
After that next train is departing from Sunderland Station 15:57 (not from St Pauls) normal stops towards Teesside.
Boro have just been given all this info and will be publicising it tomorrow.
Oops sorry. I will correct. The special

Things have changed since 1980 though. Although not all the rolling stock or the pay.Got a Special from Middlesbrough to OT in August 1980.
Honestly thought we would win, got dumped 3-0.
Worst way I can ever remember going to a Boro away match.
Possibly the daftest post on here since the last time you posted.Best of luck getting to the ground from St Paul’s
