Supporters Forum Meeting Next Monday

The concourses are too narrow for many of the solutions put forward.

The concourse remember is through way, drinking area, not just an area for queuing and serving.

The quicker people are served the more the area may become congested, because fans with most drinks have to stay in the narrow concourses.

The objective for me is to have fewer fans in the concourses at say 2.45pm. Fans are asked to come at 2pm for their free drink, but how many turn up after 2.30pm? (I sometimes turn up after 2.30pm and complain I have to queue 15 minutes!)

Has allowing fans to take drinks to their seats ever been considered. The club don't encourage even non alocholic, because they say bottles can be missiles.

There has been a big problem with recruitment numbers since covid. As experienced right across hospitality. And retention of staff. Remember this is a fortnightly job. I know those issues still hold. And these issues impact on training etc.
It has been confirmed that Peter Hall Bar and Concourse Manager will be joining the meeting on Monday so we can find out from him regarding his thoughts and what new systems have been trailed etc. It is clear to see there are big queues this season across concourses before and at half time in games.
How they use the staff they have can be improved massively. Don't have the same person serving and going and getting the product. Have one of the people who are on other roles doing it. They always seem to have enough people, just not doing the right things. And noone seems to take ownership of it.

I always wonder why people really care about the concourse. The people offering suggestions, how long do u spend in there?

The position we are in financially do u feel its worth the cost to widen, improve decor etc. I presume this would come out of a budget reserved for investment in the team and youth.

Its a football ground at the end of the day and most people probably spend 20 mins in there every 2 weeks.

Interested in why people feel its so important. Same too with choice at the kiosks how much do u want them to stock.

Not sure if it's legal in the UK Red. You can see in the photo below people taking their drinks onto Mechelen's terraces. It's actively encouraged in Belgium.Screenshot_20230118_172053_Gallery.jpg

Can you ask about allocating some priority points for those of us abroad (and I mean actually abroad rather than VPN abroad) who fork out £140 / year for the video season pass.

That's about a third of the price of a season ticket and it goes to the club. It would push us a little bit up the queue for big matches like the play-off final, or matches when we're occasionally back in the country

Edit - I do appreciate that the club couldn't give a 5hit about anyone who's not a season card holder, but worth a try

Would also like to know what the club are planning should

An investment in the playing/coaching staff is covered by player sales or by Gibson. Operation costs are covered by revenue made by the club.

Good point you raise.

We will try and get this point addressed along with other priority point questions. This won't be at next week's meeting because the relevant member of staff cannot make it.
That would be appreciated Rob .....

...... but I think the point being supported by AET and Humpty was that the club couldn't give a 5hit about non season card holders

I have noticed they sometimes have pints ready ahead its not a bad idea at say 2.30pm, but I woiukd guess the serving areas are not designed for it so there is little room to put them.

Can you ask the tannoy announcer to read out the away team ? Obviously read it out quickly so the away fans can’t cheer every name. Seems a bit petty !
Would be fine with that , but would prefer the Boro bench to be read out first - as they miss that out regularly too

I know that simply is not the case.
It’s how it feels Rob. Sorry.
No problem with season card holders getting priority but As someone who lives away from the area a season card is no use to me. The Boro Pride was ideal for me, I get to a few games a season but they stopped it……🤷‍♂️

I know that simply is not the case.
If it's not the case Rob, and three examples off the top of my head ....

- why did they bin the Boro Pride Card

- why did they let season card holders buy extra tickets for the Spurs and Chelsea matches (and I'm sorry, "because season card holders asked for it" isn't a valid reason) before general sale

- why is Gold Card and Chairman's Drink a closed shop
