Sunderland Away Ticket Info

So if it's to benefit those who attend away games why include home games in the priority points? Just have a priority points system based on going to away matches. What if someone has been to 20 away games but doesn't have a season ticket as they live in say Swindon for example and can't get up to Boro frequently enough to justify one. Should they be penalised over the fan with a season ticket but who has only been to 10 away games?
A season ticket holder going to 0 away games should always be ahead in the queue for away tickets instead of a non season ticket holder irrespective of the amount of away games they've attended.

That's why it's always the base/entry requirement for consideration in high demand games.

Season tickets are the bread and butter of our garunteed income and fan base.
I agree. But the argument here is that those who attend more away games should get priority for away games, so why do home games need to be included in the priority points system therefore? Takes out the argument that season tickets are devalued, removes the 20 point Gold Card bonus that anyone without one will always be penalised by and genuinely rewards those who go to the most away games.

No, it's season ticket holders that attend a lot of away games get priority over season ticket holders that don't.

Then, once all those have had their chance, general sale.

It's the fairest and most logical way.

I think the events of the last two days have boarded on farce.
However, MFC have worked hard to turn things around and in the end the loyalty system has been applied and done its job.

Why? Not everyone lives in Middlesbrough and has a 20 minute round trip to the match. So if I go to 23 away matches as they're easier to get to and 0 home games, I should be treated worse for an away ticket to the season ticket holder who attends 23 home games and 0 away games. We've both been to the same amount of games (and I may have attended more as the home fan may have missed a game or two), I've probably travelled more miles to go to these games but as I'm not a season ticket holder I'm not as worthy.

Anyone who could've qualified for Sunderland away tickets at 3pm, who have been unfortunate not to get them, make sure you check the website at 3:30pm onwards. Those who have had them in their basket and not bought them will have their tickets released and back on sale as you only have 30 minutes to reserve the seats and paying before they're released again.

No doubt a fair few should be released again come 3:30pm.

It's a stupid argument. If our full fan base was like that we'd have 0 home fans and take 10 000 everywhere. It's a shame those that live away but travel miss out from time to time but such is life and circumstance. I work shifts, lived away for 2 years, played football on Saturdays for years, over a 8 year period I went to a handful of home games but kept my ST. It was a small price to pay now I've had it 27 year and feel a little recognition with the extra points is a nice touch. Loyalty should always be rewarded, starting with the ST holders.

Good point, odd seats are starting to reappear.
Folk still trying to buy without enough points?

Someone who purchases a season tickets gives their money to Boro. If unfortunately someone who doesn’t purchase a season for what ever reason, still wants to attend as many away games as possible they are lining the pockets of Boro’s opponents, actually giving very little to the Boro. Season ticket holders should be commended for putting hard earned cash into the Boro coffers and rewarded with priority points. It there choice of how many away games they can afford or want to attend.

I take it that more than one person from a group applies for tickets, several perhaps, if more than one is successful then the first to get served collects their tickets the others cash out.

I have over 200 points, but my 10 year old son who doesn't get a chairmans drink due to the fact he wasn't born then gets 10 points less than me (he's had his ST for 6 years now) doesn't. I'm not exactly sure how many points he has because it doesn't show it anywhere as he cannot log in, but should be 10 points less than me.

I've had my season ticket since the corners were filled in and therefore not a gold card holder, I was on a waiting list for a ST before the corners were filled in, but that doesn't count either. It seems wrong that I have to go to an extra 5 away games (my son 10) over the 2 years than a gold card holder just to catch up.

That is what I think is flawed in the current system. I couldn't make the Sunderland game anyway, but would be quite annoyed if I could not go, and I wouldn't go without my son.

Yes as others have said the club make very little out of away money ( only)

His points will show on your account if the 2 are linked
