Sunderland Away Ticket Info

I've been on the site none stop the last few days. A lot of what's been said against the club is rumours and utter crap tbh. The number of available seats does not correlate to how many are actually available. I have 209 points and logged on at 10am and got a ticket with only around 150 left across all blocks, when I look now there's over 200 still available. The numbers online need to be disregarded, whether the club release them in a specific order or baskets etc mess the numbers up I don't know but the rubbish spouted on twitter and Facebook is embarrassing. I for one can not fault the club.

Even now there is roughly 400 tickets left. So it appears the club have got it spot on with 180 points given half a chance of tickets this afternoon whilst the fans that travel the most have been given priority.

There’s now 400.

Guess a lot of people tried their luck and when it didn’t work left them in their basket 🤷🏻‍♂️

Over 500... guess the club do know what they're doing.
They both need looking into.

I was against the points system from the start as I looked at all the issues other clubs were having with their own systems and didn’t trust the club to administer it properly.

It’s incredible the amount of people I know who you could count the number of away games they’ve been to since last August on one hand, and many of them still have 200+ points.

Because those who can afford to buy tickets and just don’t go to get the points (in some cases purchase child tickets to reduce the hit), buy tickets with no intention other than to bank the points and sell them on, buy tickets for their mates who otherwise wouldn’t get tickets due to the points, or just allow others to purchase tickets on their account. Some with gold cards aren’t the original holders, they have a huge advantage over other season card holders who can never obtain that status.

Don’t get me wrong, we’ve all helped mates in the past or let someone go on our ticket when we’ve been on holiday, working away, etc. What I’m referring to is playing the system in some cases on an industrial scale.

These were all things that happened at other clubs, all could be foreseen and MFC have done absolutely nothing about it.

Personally I wouldn’t like to see us take the Brighton approach, that’s too draconian for me. I’d rather simplify and streamline the system to take away the incentive for people to do this.

You’ve got all those issues plus hospitality can buy tickets under the counter and there’s an away season ticket that isn’t advertised and you can’t buy unless you get a nod and a wink from the club.

The whole thing needs looking at again, it’s not had too many issues so far as we simply haven’t had the fixtures or demand to put it under pressure, but if we get a play-off semi final or are lucky enough to get in the Premier League I can see a lot of animosity building at how the system is ran and a lot of that is the lack of transparency.
It clearly isn't happening on an industrial scale. There's over 500 tickets left after hospitality and over 200 points have had a go. Discount those who can't go there's probably less than 1500 fans with over 200 points. It's a great system.

Bit harsh that those on with 198/199 that they’re lumped in with people on 10 less away games

Always got to be a line, I missed out on 220 because I didn't use my ticket to buy cup tickets. You can either buy them at a certain point or you can't and someone has got to be one side of the line.

Wouldn’t have been difficult for them to have another window between 200 and 180

Cancelled tickets as in people have added them to their basket but not had enough points to buy?

The system shouldnt even let you get that far down the process stage if you dont have the required points but i guess it does until you get to checkout?
Cancelled as in, purchased and points added to their account.

The system is now showing 650 tickets available.

Should be a decent amount left.

I am surprised some are left I would have thought there are two thousand who go to most away games and have had a season ticket for a few years. Maybe they are waiting for mates numbers to come up who don't have 200 points.

I agree the system is working as there is a gradual release. I also agree the bands should narrow as the points drop. My guess is there are a lot of fans around 190 points and there will be a mad rush at 3pm.

I haven't been to many away games this season so I am 192pts. Its not relevant because I will be watching this one on TV. I do hope to get to the away games nearer me - Bristol, Cardiff, Swansea, WBA.

It benefits those who actually attend away games, as I’ve said before why is it fair for someone who will only attend the Sunderland game to get a ticket over someone who attends 10 away games? If you want to attend the bigger more sought after games then start attending matches.
So if it's to benefit those who attend away games why include home games in the priority points? Just have a priority points system based on going to away matches. What if someone has been to 20 away games but doesn't have a season ticket as they live in say Swindon for example and can't get up to Boro frequently enough to justify one. Should they be penalised over the fan with a season ticket but who has only been to 10 away games?

Season tickets are the bread and butter of our garunteed income and fan base.
