League cup so unfair.

So 3 of the top 4 of the Premier League will make up the semi finals of the League Cup....such an unfair format ,the top clubs don't enter until the last 32, so it's hardly any wonder they get so far, I realise that they have Champions League and Europa League , but come on there must be a fairer way of doing it. I mean the majority of them will qualify for Europe through the League .Thoughts.........

Isn't this the cup that none of them are bothered about? The majority only put half a team out and I personally feel it is only Man City who field a strong team, even though it is their 3rd squad ;) .

Newcastle, Notts F and Wolves arent playing in Europe?

I thought Newcastle had won the cup tonight given the coverage they’re getting, or am I mistaken? The players did a lap of honour and Sky Sports News showed footage of them celebrating in the changing room.
Good for them, nice to see clubs taking it seriously. Isn’t the lap of honour just to applaud the fans? We do it every home game

Newcastle vs Man City = dumped out by Man City
Newcastle vs Man Utd = if they don’t beat Man Utd.. they’re still not as good as us
Newcastle vs Forest = funny if Forest up their game.. but the beordies will be getting cup winners tattoos if they get this draw!

The geordie media hype is growing monthly. Just typical really. The media wouldn't give then 10 mins before the money (see also City and Chelsea).

You'd watch then nailed on last 2 games on MOTD. That or covering a protest.

IIt's all a bit sicking. Also clearly grates more as a Boro fan. F*ck knows how Sunderland fans are taking it 😂. I guess the media have easily moved on form the initial shock and horror about the Saudi ownership. I guess now its 'fine'. Just like the world Cup.

There was a time when people used to moan that the bigger clubs didn’t take this comp seriously but since they can use 5 subs and have infinitely better squads this isn’t the case anymore.

Much as I enjoy the regular calamitous underperformances from the "massive" club, it is nice to see the absolute joy of a home town player scoring the winner instead of one bought by the dirty oil money.

He was bought under the Saudi ownership.

"Only" £13m, but he's still a Saudi signing bought with dirty oil money.

In the last 20 years only 3 clubs outside the big 6 have won it
MAN CITY 6
MAN UTD 4
CHELSEA 3
LIVERPOOL 3
SPURS 1
BIRMINGHAM 1
SWANSEA 1
MIDDLESBROUGH 1
Giving them such an advantage when there's only 32 clubs left in my opinion is so unfair.
Everyone should start at round 1.....
Talk about trophies and revenue for the big boys

Teams in Europe have likely 10 games more than the rest, if they were put in from round 1 they would just put full reserve sides out.

Come on Lemmy don't you know that football history started in 1992 with the first season of the Premier league. Anything that happened before that doesn't count.
That's evident on this board at times, we recently had the best living eleven post and if you had anyone who hadn't played live on Sky, it didn't count.

We are coming to the end of panto season and it seems that Wishy Washy's did a marvelous job of cleaning up the Saudi money. :(
