He's probably the worst manager we've had, albeit in very difficult circumstances.
I was glad he left as a player to Spurs, as his fitness record was so precarious.
He is absolutely not a Boro legend.
But he was an absolutely fantastic centre back - imho he was better than Ferdinand when the pair were at Leeds (and I'm far from alone in thinking that, all Leeds would say that and they should know)
I think he was a better player at his peak than Campbell, Ferdinand and Terry. Fitness, lifestyle and attitude were Woodgate's obvious problems.
The bloke will be badly bruised and simply should never have been appointed, but lets not make stuff up about him as a player.
