God knows what will happen , he is getting a tune out of everyone ATM I hope he can attract some top quality additions to help the group .
Gibson will back him , we are on a role and so close it is frightening.

It does feel like everything he is touching turns to gold! Would be a shame not to back him to the hilt.. strike while the iron is hot.

Saying that.. we don’t want to upset the applecart.

It is all about balance, and keeping the momentum and togetherness of the team, for me we need to be looking at addressing the 2 wide attacking areas as this feels like where we need to improve the most and I would like to think we could try and make giles a permenant signing.

Forss, jones, watmore, mcgree are all really good players but other than jones whose confidence is a little low at the moment, none of them are out and out wide midfielders .

A replacement for Muniz if he is to go back the rest should stay as is unless boyd munch or one of the kids where to go out on loan

Last year's Jan widow arguably made us worse. Definitely 'no better'.

I'd have backed Coburn and Watmore to have scored more given the minutes of Connally and Balogun.

I don't think we need anything major. I'd stay away from prem club U23s who are the 'next big thing'. They seldom work out. That or take 6 weeks to get up to speed.

A couple or 3 players who've been around the block in the champo. I think Muniz will leave. So definitely a CF slot available. Armstrong from Southampton would be some statement.

Agree on the watmore coburn statement, also think Balogun was miss managed, got on a roll then took him out the team yet persisted with connolly, Balogun is this team would definately score goals IMO.
Uche is and was a much more effective player than connolly.

We cocked up the last 2 winter transfer windows and made the team far worse both times.

22 Taylor was signed before the window opened as he was a free agent.
McGree has been decent this season but was poor last season and Connolly and Balogun were pap.

21 Watmore was signed outside the transfer window as he was a free agent. The rest were an absolute waste of wages.

Both their contracts were extended/renewed in the January.

Massimo Luongo would have been this season’s equivalent.

Waste of wages? Kebano was class, I loved Fischer, McGree is brilliant plus Balogun has 10 goals in 16 games in Ligue 1 AC Milan are keeping tabs on him.

Not interested in signing anyone who doesn’t go straight into the starting 11, to be honest.

We’ve signed average to poor players in the last couple of January windows that have disrupted the team’s form due to them being given chances, rotated, playing when they don’t deserve to etc.

They need to improve the team not pad it out.
2 good players for every position?

Only additional player I would really like us to sign is a midfielder between say 23-26yo(not hit peak yet, but still experienced enough to not need too much development) to bring in and rotate with Howson. With the idea being the younger player will be integrated into the squad this season and be Howsons long term replacement.
Apart from that unless it's is a replacement for a player leaving or a significant improvement on what we have then I really wouldn't tinker with things too much.

I think 11 points is a lot to make up even with current form. I can’t see Burnley or Sheffield u skipping up to that extent. I’d like to think carrick was supported in the market and see what happens rather than throwing the kitchen sink at an improbability. Next season, hit the ground running
Probably right, be nice to get to a playoff final again for a good day out, even if we don’t win it the money certainly helps for the following seasons push.

I think that's a realistic view.

I can't see either slipping up to that extent.

If only...
