Who is not feeling it with Michael Carrick?

Anyone think he is chip off the old block when it comes to Jawdee managers? Jack Charlton was charismatic but at the same time was kind low key when talking about individual players.

Bobby Robson was also very low key and didn’t try to make one particular player as the key player— Carrick seems to have this kind of personality and philosophy about his players.

Currently I’m still thinking that SG will have to get his check book out to make this current team a playoff challenger, but Carrick has definitely enforced this requirement I believe.

In regards to taking a gamble on Carrick— isn’t every manager a gamble? I remember when Robbie came to the Riverside, despite his high profile it was a huge risk as there were other more seasoned managers who could have done just as well— if not better. But, I’m happy with the choice as Carrick has been a manager in the making for a few years who bided his time until the right opportunity came along.

Robbie? Robbo I assume? I remember him coming to Ayresome Park.

Point of order: Jack Charlton was from Ashington, so he wasn't a geordie.

Even the folk of Newcastle mock the accents of people from Ashington...
