Did someone post some of Chris McGlades poems on here a few weeks back, i cant seem to find them anywhere...

Seems like this one is stiring those with certain views at the moment, seen it on a few facebook feeds of a certain type...

Was he the lad who just as the Boro v Leicester League cup final kicked off he stripped down to his boxers & got on to the tarmac with 'Save Redcar baths' wrote on his front & back?

There were posts on the old site fmttm.com over the last couple of weeks.

Ah on the old site... not sure I agree with the sentiment in this one as he suggests debate is being stifled but tries to tell others they cant havevthe view they want because it's not his view.

Yes that was Chris. Good lad Chris. Don't always agree with what he posts or says but known him a long while. Gets a few lets say right leaning persons following him these days and thats not really what he's about.

Thought so, I have a piece from the gazette of the day in my scrapbook, it just meant hunting it out & finding the article, thanks for that 👍

Don’t know what to make of that. Seems to be a large slice of hypocrisy running right through it.
He seems quite a muddled individual not entirely certain what he stands for. He's anti-establishment but what does that mean? Is the establishment a person, a group of people, an organisation, an institution?
It just gives him license to rant at anything and everything depending on how he's feeling that particular day.

He doesn't impress me so I'm not sure what all of the fuss is about.

On the surface he speaks with passion and gives a rousing call to arms, but ultimately the message is confused and lacks substance. On one hand talking of 'divide and conquer' with the masses being systematically divided into black/white, North/South, Stay/Remain etc but then builds up into a crescendo of there being a working class/middle class division and thereby playing directly into the hands of those playing the game.

Racial inequality is a true cause, and should not simply be brushed away with an individual's talk of not being a racist, or not noticing skin colour. It's at best a distraction and at worst yet another division to the detriment of the equality movement.

Chris has been known to post on fmttm and so I can say the following in the knowledge that he will be able to give a fair reply. I think he's a self-publicist who has has taken some stick in the past about the content of his comedy acts and has an axe to grind. I think his videos are ultimately about himself, and not about the 'working class' people of the UK that he now says that he speaks for. It just so happens that the original poem has resonated with people, and it has to be said that there are so many topics in the video that it's a bit of a 'catch all'. He is now latching onto this opportunity, with recent videos being aimed towards the USA, with the promise of his stand-up comedy shows being taken there.

He's a great speaker and true character; and I have to say that I'd want him on my side. It just so happens that I disagree with him here, and I think that he's causing even more division, and it's not what is needed. If Chris's crusade is not about 'hate' (which I'm confident it isn't), then he should be wary of the people that are now latching onto him and thereby using his skills and articulation for their own causes (which unfortunately are about hate).
