Detectorists

Sneaked? It has been all over the TV, papers and radio. PS, it is brilliant 👍
It sneaked under my radar.
I watch that many boxsets and fast forward between episodes and adverts I hardly see any trailers or previews. I pretty much rely on my Sky Glass recommendations. Ive probably missed loads.

Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Apparetntly its been 5 years since the ’final’ episode.

I don’t think this will be the last either

Well they have said it’s the last, but you never know.

Whole thing - the actors, the list of characters, the visuals, the storyline were just great. A joy from start to finish.

On a similar theme, Early Doors is finally being repeated from 7th of January. I know most of us have seen it but worth watching again as it was so good.

I love Detectorists, every episode is a joy to watch - except this special?
I couldn't get into it, just didn't engage me at all like every other episode has, but hey ho were all different

Hell yeah! I wasn't aware of this so that is going to start the year off in a good way.

First time I have watched it (I don't watch a lot of telly). Really enjoyable, gentle comedy, even if the denouement was somewhat ridiculous.

I think you need to have watched the series to fully appreciate a lot of the running gags (the lemonade scene, Simon Farnaby’s character etc).

It’s a definite slow burner but recommend watching the series from the beginning to fully appreciate it.

Superb TV. Mackenzie Crook was interviewed on 5Live on Saturday morning and sounded very uncomfortable, which only made me like him more. He said he set out to write something that wasn't cynical and I think that's one of its strengths. Great music, too.
