Interesting comment from Maddo - us and them

Maddo made an insightful comment during yesterday's commentary about how the club was United again at Rockliffe. Suggested that the previous management team kept themselves to themselves and clearly didn't engage with the academy set up and other areas within the club.
Good to see that Carrick has addressed that and brought it all back together.
The players have spoken about the positive spirit round the club, they certainly look happier than they did a month ago and that is showing in their play.

Fully agree with Maddo woodgate knows the academy very well and Carrick is smart enough to know it's essential for a club like ourselves

It's all unravelling in regards to wilder. Maddo made another comment as well about not playing dael fry who maddo said is the best central defender in the division.

Fry under Wilder was awful, his drop in form was shocking. Seem to recall a lot of fans saying cash in over the summer.

We all had a laugh at McClaren/Beswick but the importance of mental wellbeing in sport cannot be understated.

Getting hauled off at HT - in consecutive games? - when he was one of many playing poorly clearly screwed his head.

Wilders man management has certainly been brought into question since his dismissal. For all his self confessed progressive management/tactical genius, the basics of good player management was shocking / totally lacking.

I liked Wilder, but got to agree with this. His treatment of Uche was particularly poor and he also made it virtually impossible for Lumley to ever play for us again, not necessarily a bad thing, but on a human level not particularly kind.

Wilders man management is absolutely horrific.
Lumley & Daniels although not good enough anyway were continously having to hear 'we'll have to improve that position in the summer'
Dijksteel told he was at fault regularly.
Fry dropped and hauled off at half time twice to dampen his spirits
Flo Balogun had a consecutive run of games where he scored 3 times then he never started again
Uche didn't even get to come back to training
Chuba was brought back to prove a point over transfers
Lea Siliki bombed out given a first half then bang back out again, I mean what's the point? If he's not in your plans don't give him hope then give him 45 minutes
Sporar dropped when he was on form
Jones 'can do better'

Hideous and good riddance

Good post, expands on my post above absolutely to point 👍

Listing out his man management mistakes makes pretty grim reading. Add into this his absolute refusal to include academy players in his first team squad (and comments on them collectively after the Barnsley defeat) ....... 😬

It was a toxic camp you could feel it at the ground the team just didn’t look happy.

This constant obsession with things we supposedly didn’t have - left sided defender being the key to winning apparently.

Now even looking at the social players media they all seem happier they are certainly playing better and the results have come.

Excellent post, though from what I seen of Siliki he was awful

Don't disagree with most of these, (though Balogun did start again) but Lea Siliki was horrific in that 45 minutes, he looked like a contest winner, I don't blame Wilder for never using him again after that.

He probably played his way out of the plans with that performance.

Wilder inherited a decent team & turned us into, IMHO, one of the worst teams in the championship, others may disagree & thats fine all about opinions

This season we were going down under him you could physically feel something wasn’t right.

Now again you can see the club is happy again. I’ve yet to here one player speak well of wilder in media interviews or on social media, that’s odd.

I posted this in September as I could see is going one way and he didn’t seem bothered.

Think its pretty clear with Wilder it was all about him. His career, his achievements, his "abileteh".

He sees himself as a premier league manager and i think he probably has a bit of a chip on his shoulder that he's not one. I think we were the best he could get, he never seemed entirely happy here.

the amusing irony is by not focussing on the job in hand and constantly looking for better, he's damaged the reputation he clearly cares so much about. And Carrick, a complete rookie, getting this sort of tune out of players he wrote off and probably threw his toys out of the pram about, is just making him look increasingly worse.

That’s a good point as you say they can’t have been that bad then.

But it was dismissive attitude to our academy that I couldn’t never understand I posted in the summer surely we have someone who can run in the academy to fill the tav energy void. We did in Hackney.

Agree Jedi, IMHO, we were one of the 3 worst teams in the Championship

So happy to go to home games now were we'll compete, are attractive & a threat

We’d lost games before the kick off it was that bad I’d go knowing we would lose as we had zero fight about us.

Take out the sunlun game ( that takes care of itself really) and the rest was just constant battle against the inevitable defeat.
