Given our up turn in players will our priorities now change in jan

Chuba is on fire and young Hayden looks at home in our mf so do you think this will now maybe change our priorities and allow us to explore certain avenues that we might not have done so previously.

When it comes to new additions in jan.

If we’re sticking with the 4-4-1-1 we could definitely do with another genuine pacey winger to take the pressure off Jones a bit.

I’d also like us to get an athletic central midfielder in the “Frank the Tank” mould… it’s a big ask for Howson to play every game, and I think Hackney will inevitably have a dip in form at some point

I must say I'm really struggling to find a weak link in our team after the last couple of weeks.
It's a long season though so I think I would be looking for a CM and a RM to come in for Hackney and Jones. Playing week in week out they are bound to have a dip in form due to their tender ages.

Crooks was one of my favourite players up until recently. I don't think I would trust him as cover for our CM's right now.

Up front I think we are well stocked now to be honest and wouldn't recall Coburn.
The more game time he gets at Bristol the better. Set him up for a good run in the team next season.
Another natural No.10 as cover for Chuba would be a sensible option maybe.

I'm not sure Coburn would improve us. He's not at the standard shown by either Forss or Akpom last night, nor does he have Watmore's mobility.
I think he's better off getting a full season in league 1 under his belt too.

We all know Coburn can finish, at the moment his overall style is a bit more static than Forss, a bit more like Crooks I would say. From the clips I've seen of him this season though he already looks a bit quicker and sharper so the more games in league 1 the better for Josh.

There is no point recalling Coburn unless Muniz is sent back or Hoppe is sent out on Loan. No point recalling him unless he gets regular game time. I'd cut Muniz personally. Nothing against the lad but may as well put our efforts into developing our own players.

Things have massively improved and confidence is flowing but we don't want to get too carried away by beating a Blackpool team on a poor run whose squad had been decimated by a bug in the run up to the game. There're still weaknesses in our squad and a lack of strength in depth in some areas.

There was plenty of posts on here saying we needed a complete overhaul in players, but given where we finished ;ast season, with predominantly the same squad, I think the issue has always been confidence and a lack of cohesion on the pitch. The two things are inter dependable of course.

I also think it's unlikely we'll see many signings in january and the ones we do will probably be loans.

Carrick's team is still in its infancy and I think he needs at least a dozen more games to know where we need to improve most, in terms of positions and areas.

Midfield is still the biggest concern, strong defensive boateng-like midfielder needed and box to box creative pick the lock type needed. Think we need to move on from the likes of mowatt and crooks as they can’t play the same sort of game as Howson and Hackney, quality not quantity is needed, the youth team has been neglected for years and years in that regard

I think as it stands those are the two positions I'd prioritise. Ideally the winger would be comfortable on both flanks.

January isn't a great time to do business and if we continue under Carrick as we have been I wouldn't want too many new faces anyway, it's ruined our momentum before doing that.

Two in for a bit of competition and add some strength in depth and I think we'll be fairly well set.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see us cancel Muniz loan and end bring Coburn back as back up and then use the final loan spot on a winger.

Could do with an athletic centre mid too.

I was thinking this after last night.

Are we really desperate for a striker? Where are we lacking depth? Do we have CMs that we trust? Who doesn't fit the current style

I came to the following conclusions
1) GK has settled, no change to be made
2) CBs, Carrick knows McNair very well, yet has chosen to drop and bench him. I suspect that doesn't bode well for Paddy. Would not be surprised to see him leave and a youngish replacement come in.
3) Dijksteel and Bola have dropped out, could we be looking to replace?
4) Mowatt has been ineffectual, maybe return to West Brom in January, allowing us loanee space to bring in one of the Man Utd U21 midfielders
5) Luongo, will be out when his contract expires in Jan
6) New LB to give us the option to push Giles further forward
7) A specialist winger to push Jones, Giles etc
8) 2 CMs to cover and push
9) Do Watmore and Crooks have a future at the club?

Think there will be 3 or 4 changes in Jan then next summer another 4 or 5

Bring Adama back. He's wasted at Wolves, with their cowardly managers desperate to convert him into being a defender. He'd be superb back in our side in Jones' position.

Midfield is still a must. Howson is 34 do needs replacing and he didn't have a backup so we need 2 in that position, ideally both better than Howson. Hackney had looked good but is still young, needs another player that can play the when his form drops out just to rotate. Payero may be able to be one of these players but it seems unlikely he'll be coming back.

Send the loan players back (Muniz and Mowatt), no point developing other teams players if it's hampering our own. Giles and Steffen can stay because we'd be weak without them.

We're not going to get promoted or relegated so getting experience for players like Hackney, Ford's, Hoppe is less risky but can be better in the long run. Maybe the same for the keeper.

If we're going to play with wingers then a left sided winger is needed, maybe 2 so 1 acts as cover for both wings. Youth players like Willis might already be this player.
