Boris Johnson - next PM?

Tory Logic:

We need a united Party so let's elect the person that split the Party in the first place.

Surely the groundswell of anti-Johnson feeling that saw mass resignations and letters of no confidence has not dissipated within the House to get him anywhere near the last two in a Leadership election ?

This Circus needs a ringmaster not the return of its most eccentric clown.

It's like it's been the plan all along. 'force' Boris out, get a new prime minister in who's an absolute imbecile, then Boris comes back in like a hero to all the 'racists' sorry flag shagging Brexiters.
Problem for them is that it's way too far out from the next GE for Johnson to come back, he'll be forced out by scandal before the election.

Sadly, and it casts a truly horrific light on the electorate, no other tory gets close to winning as many votes as Johnson in a GE.

Around 40 MPs didn't vote with the government last night. Wouldn't surprise me if they temporarily removed the whip from those dissenters, making them ineligible to vote against Johnson, then if he comes back he would restore the whip as an 'olive branch'.

It should be a ridiculous thought, but with this lot it's not.

Short memories.

Remember his resignation speech, it was like he was leaving after a glorious period in office.

He’ll get in on the not Liz Truss ticket, but the scandals will not stop. Didn’t somebody say there was more dirt?

Yep, ‘twas me quoting Alison Philips, editor of the Mirror when she was on the Daily Politics recently.

I did say that Truss was a stooge, backed by Johnson , with very limited shelf life.
And that it would pave the way for his return. Sunak would be harder to displace.

Now they can try to bring the idiot back if they wish. fortunately the party has already consumed itself and no amount of b.s. is going to unpoor the electorate.

His Brexit fallacy has been laid bare, and the inquiry he faces will lead to him being defenestrated once again - possibly within 45 days.

Bring it on, I'd give him till Christmas.

The removal of Boris (what lots on here clamored for) has in many ways led to all this uncertainty and damaged our economy.
I hope you are proud of yourselves 😡
I'm always one for the removal of corrupt liars from public office; the removal of Johnson and Truss becoming PM should be looked at as 2 separate things.

Johnson had to go, he's got so much baggage and is incapable of telling the truth. He is of obvious immoral makeup and he rightly was made to stand down. Electing Truss is another matter and equally as much of a fk up as getting Johnson the gig in the first place.

However, her being a useless idiot doens't mean it wasn't right to get rid of Johnson, it absolutely was. That is why should he become PM again it will further destroy the Tory party (and the country).

Yes because all of those Tory MPs who forced out their liar-in-chief regularly read and are influenced by a Boro message board. I hope you're proud of yourself, defending a lifelong conman.

....and yes, that was a bite. Bu99ger. ;)

Being reported there is increasing talk of Tory MP’s triggering by-elections if he becomes leader….even one claiming he would cross the floor. Possibly not the shoe in that some think.
Mind they have history of talking the talk…the ambulatory bit seems to be a problem.
