Communication from the Club

Just thinking, did the chairman ever address/speak to the supporters during the pandemic? I don’t think he did, did he? Looking back at that now, that seems quite mad. Warnock did ALL of the public speaking(and kept the spirits up TBF). It seems odd IMO.

,If it was feb/march then maybe it would be a crisis. We are massively out of form and playing *****. I think we just need to wait until the process is complete then maybe see what the club say. We all want a winning formula desperately but the club are trying to remedy our situation as we saw with sacking wilder.
Fair enough your entitled to opinion but I genuinely don’t think my request is asking too much, I’m just a passionate fan who is genuinely concerned about how we move forward and improve on and off the pitch. Some communication from the club would help us see the plan and understand what’s going on and maybe then patience will be had but until then I think you will see more and more frustrated fans vent. It’s the way the world is

Same mate we all have our opinions, I was the same as you when we had Pulis and went to woodgate, we all knew that would be and was a disaster. I’m pretty confident we will be fine in mid table mediocrity to go again next year.

Quite a few posters were lapping up Woodgate when he made his I’m a local lad speech.

Warnock WOULD NOT let anyone speak to media apart from himself.

FFS he even stopped the interviews with Yusuf

It may just be a case of taking time, I can imagine changing the mentality at the club isnt an overnight thing and may be some sort of a plan like a 5 year one.
I agree but in the meantime, while we’re in the relegation zone of a league we are almost never relegated from, a few words wouldn’t go amiss in my opinion.

This is true. He wanted to play attacking football and that was all some people wanted to hear. I remember coming away from our 3-3 draw at Luton feeling pretty non-plussed but a fair few of our fans were jubilant because it was a good game. Turned out to be almost the highlight of his short reign.

Whilst I agree that more communication would be welcome, do any other clubs really communicate more than Boro? I'm not sure this is a specific problem for Boro, but football in general.

Do you all want something like this?
I would quite like something along the lines of what I’ve suggested above. Not really for me, per se, but just to at least try and get the consensus back on board. Like it or not, some PR is occasionally needed from a football chairman/owner.

Preston owners did a good piece recently. Something like that is needed here. I dare say Man City fans don’t especially care what their owners have to say at present, it depends on circumstances.

At then moment we are in the worst position we’ve been in as a club for almost 40 years. We could be bottom if it weren’t for the postponed games. Massive game next week.

In fairness to Gibson, he’s not been one for the media spotlight even 2004-2006. It would be nice to hear from him (or anyone) about what the next few years might look like, but he can’t be accused of hiding away when he’s never been known for direct communication to the fans.

Well he found the time to take part in the Bryan Robson movie.

If not Gibson, maybe Scott or Bausor could say something? These are unprecedented times for anyone under the age of about 45.

Thinking about it I don’t think I have ever heard Bausor or Scott speak.
