Who should we have never sold?

Patrick Bamford is the recent belter.

Imagine having Bamford, Traore, Stuani, Gibson, Ayala, Downing, Leadbitter, Clayton, even Friend and £50m to spend. That is what Garry Monk had.

Imagine having Bamford, Assombolonga, Gestede, Braithwaite and Fletcher and deciding the one to sell was Bamford. That is what pulis did.

Free transfer belters include Mark Viduka and Mark Schwarzer,

Hodgson, Johnston, Proctor - the future of the club gone
Add David Armstrong to that.
Summer of 81 was an absolute sickener with Craig, Proc and Spike all being sold.
To follow up the following summer by selling Hodgy was the final kick in the balls.
4 years later we were in the third division and in administration.

Enter Colin Henderson, Graham Fordy and Henry Moskowitz, Bruce Rioch and Tony Mowbray.

I agree he certainly shouldn't be immune to criticism and has made more than a few mistakes but I think there may be someone important you're leaving out there.😄

Stuart Ripley replaced by Tommy Wright was a poor move that hasn't been mentioned, going back to the original question.

Tavernier, Bamford, Morrison, Cattermole, Schwarzer

Last one wasn't a sale, obviously, but we shouldn't have let him go.

I remember being disappointed at the time when Barry Robson left - felt we could have done more to try and persuade him to stay.

Leadbitter signed the following season and would have formed a good partnership in midfield with Robson if Mowbray had have played them together.
