We are in a real mess

It's certainly a mess, Gibson is accountable. I don't blame Scott. He's been here 10 months, this is years of mismanagement, maybe 15 years worth, that he is trying to unpick and it seems we might need to go backwards before we can go forwards.

If Forss and Hoppe are club signings, ie signed as part of Scott's plan, then I have absolutely no problem with that, as they both have ability, but need coaching to get a bit more consistency and resolve a few skill gaps. These type of signing, they might not all come good, they won't, but it only takes a couple and you've suddenly got an exceptional player

Scott has been in post over a year now so needs to take some accountability for leaving our squad in such a mess. Reminds me of when Southgate flogged all of our experienced midfielders and thought glass legs Digard, Weetabix knees Bates, Shawky and Josh Walker would be enough to keep us in the PL.

Pretty sure it was Cattermole who knacked Digard too!

Why do you have such faith in Scott?
He did a Stirling job at Norwich, seems to know his stuff but I think the job is going to be more tougher than he must have thought given the state of the club.I think it to early to shift the blame on Scott .The guys who are to blame are the two puppets running the club who seem to be making mistakes and the way Gibson is going about things is PR disaster he doesn't seem to communicate any more I think we as fans need answers.

Spot on

He was a scout at Norwich.
I know they picked up a couple of decent players
Do we have him on the back of that, is that it?

I don’t think we’ll go down but we will struggle if Gibson makes a poor appointment. I don’t know who he has lined up but it needs to be good to sort these players into a cohesive unit. Carrick would be a huge gamble imo - I don’t think a rookie manager is what we need right now
Agree totally, not the time for an experimental manager.

I’d question whether he contributed all that much to Norwich. He’s got the job on the back of what? Not much as far as I can tell. And if he is responsible for recruitment then in each window I’d argue we’ve got worse under his watch.

We don't know what the remit of Scott is? Making money for Gibson? If that's the case it was an excellent transfer window
More like saving him money then making him money, after recent losses who could blame him. A lot of people begrudge the ticket prices but expect top players whilst excepting someone else to underwrite the millions to do so.

Have to say the club has been on a downward spiral since Eindhoven. We should have pushed on. Everything since then has been done on the cheap until Monk which we threw stupid money at. We are still trying to recover from that era. Apart from the Aitor years we have been well below average since 2006.

Did Gibson leave his heart in Eindhoven or did we punch above our weight for years and this is the price

I don’t know but what I do know it’s bloody depressing.

In football people are as good as your last job.would you appointment a manager on the back of a relaxation?

It’s a bit of a false economy though if you end up getting relegated.

Buendia is his claim to fame. Scouted him and they made a lot of money on selling him.
Everyone else Norwich have sold for big money was either an academy product or recruited pre Scott.
I'm not sure their current squad is great or hugely valuable and pretty sure he didn't build it in any case.
Norwich have turned over massive numbers of players of little note, had loads of failures and despite PL monies and PP's can't settle in the PL.

If his remit is beyond scouting, then he has no experience of anything else.

He's certainly helping Gibson not spend money on his squad and generate profit from player sales, just like pulis was.

It's in comparison of the false economy of being consistent big spenders searching for promotion with the potential of an insolvent club which takes you out of bussiness and you won't even be in league one, it's a fine line and a difficult judgement call, unless of course it's someone else's money.

He doesn't do the finances, he isn't chief exec, he doesn't negotiate the deals either. His job is the strategy of building the playing assets up and reducing risk of losing managers and starting again. That's going to take years to get right. Is he the right man to do it? I have no idea and I doubt anyone here does either. But to expect results in a year isn't realistic.

He joined after last years transfer window shut, so maybe 12 months now, either way, it's not a long time to right 15 years of mismanagement.

Southgate didn't flog al our experienced midfielders, Southgate was head coach not manager, that's been talked about to death. But yes it was Cattermole that knackered Digard.

Agnew in the prem that’s where it went wrong.

To spend all that time and money to get there then to give it up without a whimper sums it up for me.

As Bob said - we turned up to the prem farted and left
To be fair to Agnew, he was on a hiding to nothing. The squad he inherited was in a right mess with most of the Spanish players refusing to play and the dressing room was split. Downing spoke about it on Undr the Cosh. It was a disgrace that we allowed ourselves to get into that position. The damage was already done by that point, but Agnew should never have got the job. It was scandalous the way went fell out of the premier league after working so hard to get there.

Appointing Monk next was adding insult to injury.

Wilder fcuked us massively .. no way are we above lower mistake at best. The start was the worst!!

Kieran Scott did NOTHING at Norwich.. he’s done nothing here either Wilder did nothing here either!!
