Team for tonight...

Is everyone fit now?

If Jones wasn't banned I think Wilder would have went:

Steffen

Dijk, Lenihan, Clarke

Howson
Jones, Crooks, Mcgree, Giles

Muniz , Chuba

The only option I can think of which could work is the 4-2-3-1 like you mention, but I'd go:

Steffen

Dijk, Fry, Lenihan, Bola

Howson, Crooks

Jones, Mcgree, Giles

Muniz

I expect if Wilder was picking a 4-2-3-1 then that's what he would have picked too, might be a bit negative being at home mind.

With Jones banned:

Steffen

Fry, Lenihan, Clarke

Howson
Dijk, Crooks, Mcgree, Giles

Muniz , Chuba

The only option I can think of which could work is the 4-2-3-1 like you mention, but I'd go:

Steffen

Smith, Fry, Lenihan, Bola

Howson, Crooks

Dijk??, Mcgree, Giles

Muniz

I'd like to see a 4-2-3-1:
Roberts
Dijksteel, McNair, Fry, Bola
Howson Hackney
Watmore Crooks Giles
Muniz
This looks more like it. Leo sees Giles and Jones more attacking midfielders. Only thing I would change there would be Crooks for Mcgree

McGree could go in Watmore's place, and Crooks in the middle, but saying that Watmore could be good wide, he's a good player, just crap at finishing.

Looking forward to seeing what team we pick, and how various sites report that positionally, and then also how that actually ends up.

simple 4-4-2
Giles cannot defend but great going forward play our best two strikers and Watmore out wide what can go wrong
steffen
dik, fry mcnair bola
watmore crooks howson giles
Muniz Akpon

Leo is just holdings the reigns for the new manager, so most likely will play a similar way to CW, so I didn't expect anything to radical, but that formation is THE way Edwards plays, 3412.
I really hope it's not Edwards. Can think of at least 10 names I would have ahead of him without thinking about it. I'd rather give Leo a go at it for one.

My next door neighbour is a Watford supporter and said we should stay well clear. He reckoned he was completely out of his depth.

What it say about luongo if hackney in before him. He must be well unfit ir another dud signed.

Don’t forget you have Lidelle and cattermole alongside Leo.

Both of these rate Hackney highly.

Also if he did well it would help show the good job both of them are doing.

I don't get the lack of enthusiasm around Edwards, he's had a promotion at a very modestly resourced club and has a brilliant reputation as a bright young, forward thinking coach.

Of course his Watford experience was underwhelming and very short, but so was 99% of ex-Watford managers.

His CV is as good, or better, than many of the other names were linked with?

Yeah people seem to be writing him off before he’s even managed a game.

Doesn’t bode well.

I’d personally go for Carrick

4-4-2?

We would probably get dominated in centre mid unless the wide lads tucked in, as a diamond, but then there's no point as we lose our main threat which is Giles width.

I'd be picking Lenihan before Fry and certainly before McNair.

Can you send me a link to who is saying he is a brilliant forward thinking coach please, I don’t seem to be able to find much on rhat one?

I don't get the Edwards choice, he's done crap with Watford, considering what he had at his disposal. How they have been playing has been worse than us, albeit they have a few more points.

I don't get how he's forward-thinking either? He's just been blessed with what Watford have up front, and he made poor use of it.

He's coached England kids in two different levels for start.

And a little bit of effort with Google will help you answer the question more accurately.

Coaching kids is very different from being a success at this level. I am quite adept on google but still can’t find mch. We will be taking a massive risk if we bring him in. A job for the boys springs to mind.

Bigger the risk, bigger the reward. Which seems to be our new recruitment philosophy so why not apply it to the coach as well.
