"I am not very well. I am not very healthy at the moment," he said while discussing being hospitalised recently. It comes after the comic underwent a triple heart bypass operation back in 2015, the Mirror reports.

He is said to have revealed at the Leicester Square Theatre that last week he was working on a fishing show, which involved two and a half days of filming that ended on Thursday (Sept 22). "I did it Tuesday, Wednesday and half of Thursday and I was in hospital on the Saturday. I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that should I? It's a real downer," he said

Bob is said to have also spoken about suffering from rheumatoid arthritis during the podcast appearance, which he had initially been diagnosed with forty years ago and said it returned recently after decades without it.

According to the NHS, rheumatoid arthritis is a long-term condition that causes pain, swelling and stiffness in the joints. The condition usually affects the hands, feet and wrists.

The comedian reportedly said he had been free of the condition since he was in his thirties. However, it came back earlier this month.

Bob said: "It is really sad for me to know whether it will go. Yes, I might be fat but actually I am on steroids."

In the past, Bob has been public about his health and how it has altered his perspective on life.

A few years ago he said: "It changes how you feel about things, and you become a lot more aware of your health. It gives you a kick up the backside and gets things in perspective."

It's understood that he had the emergency surgery seven years ago after doctors discovered that his arteries were more than 90 percent blocked.

Bob appears alongside comedy partner Paul Whitehouse, 64, in the BBC series Gone Fishing - which returned for its fifth series recently.

Get well soon Bob.
I don’t think anybody would accuse me of exaggerating when I say he is a National Treasure and the Greatest Living Englishman.

Edit. I just googled and Sir David Attenborough is still alive so I’ve had to relegate him from Greatest Living Englishman status. I’m sure he’d understand.
Defo in the top 2 though.
