It’s the glorious twelfth

I used to go grouse beating when I was in my early teens as my dad was a game keeper. That's waving a flag to make the grouse fly rather than actually 'beating' them... Just to clarify incase folk don't know 😂

It used to be a right payday for my age. I'm sure it was around £15 a day. To think my paper round paid about £5 a week. Also the majority of the guns are minted so often paid big tips.

A lot of walking though. Oh and definitely ran the risk of getting shot in the late 80s. I imagine it's a lot safer now. We regularly had bits of 'shot' landing around us.
