Cleveland Police - bikes/off-road vehicles

Don't we have an £87k a year Police and Crime Commissioner who promised to get tough on Anti-Social behaviour, eliminate unlicensed motorbike use, tackle youth crime head on and make our streets safer for all ?

The ex-UKIP guy who argued that police number reductions had no impact on crime and that the previous incumbent was to blame for the high crime rates and failures of Cleveland Police, yet has seen crime figures rise and arrests drop during his own tenure, the bloke who believes that handling stolen goods and receiving a caution for doing so doesn't need mentioning on your application to represent your Party in a PCC election.

When will people realise that these problems are not systematic but the product of years of central government misrule and shake off the Stockholm Syndrome that somehow convinces them that the architects of many of our problems are the ones best placed to resolve them ?

If voters continue to make bad choices and ignore the evidence presented before them that clearly shows the incompetence and dogma which is at the heart of the matter then scenes like those above will continue to rise unabated.

do you think its a phase for these kids and they go onto to live respectable lives or are they lawless scum, who need scattering with a sub machine gun. i tend to think its the latter
Exactly.

I wasn't a golden child as a boy but we weren't little ***** whizzing about everywhere on quads and trialsbikes. The daft thing is aswell next time one of these kids hurts himself/herself the family will be straight on the phone to Teesside Live telling all and sundry that "'Scotty' was a good boy with a heart of gold who never gets in trouble".

The courts have been cut back too. By the time the cases come up in a few years time it will be thrown out due to lost police reports (civilian staff paid off that looked after background stuff), witnesses unable to be traced and 'scrotes' now in full time work (having moved away, not round here) making sentencing difficult.

Vote Tory, this is the reality.
I know. The whole system has been eroded by the party of 'law and order'.

The amount of damage this country has suffered, across all aspects of life, by the successive Conservative governments is terrifying.

Well it doesn't sound like it with your post, in fact it comes across as the very opposite.

Ok Yorkshire Terrier of Redcar, who didn't vote Tory. I am sorry that you are butthurt being associated with your fellow Redcarians who voted for and returned the imbecile Jacob Young.

I correct the record:

The irony of people from Redcar moaning about the lack of Police when 46.1% of the people or Redcar who turned out in the 2019 General Election voted for a party who have slashed Police numbers for the last 12 years.

TBH when you look at the results of the 2019 GE it's worse... it looks like a load of Labour voters didn't bother turning up... I hope those people aren't moaning about the motorbikes!!!

And if you aren't from Redcar I am happy to correct the record again. Must be a slow Monday for you boss! ;)

Maybe more rules on selling motorbikes and quads, maybe every quadbike should have a license, and insurance before being sold. i dont believe most of these bikes are stolen but bought by parents who should know better,

lets be honest even if labour were in there would still be insufficient police to deal with the matter, its really more than party politics

It goes back decades. New-labour were tories in disguise.
NEo-liberalism demands less involvement from the state. I think the state should control all basic aspects of life such as water, energy, health, security & education. as much money as possible should be put into these sectors.
But, as a lot of us realise, we have suffered cut after cut after cut to the point that al lot of services are at breakpoint.
This winter is going to be horrific as people are thrown into poverty and might finally realise how these tory pigs are affecting all of our lives.

We now have a soon-to-be tory leader promising tax cuts. Less money in, less money spent. More cuts. And they will start printing money again as we spend the next couple of years living through hyper inflation. it is disgusting.

Yeah, I kind of agree there, but behaviour like this tends to reflect the way an area has been run down for years. Austerity, lack of investment, cuts to police, cuts to school budgets, a struggling NHS etc etc. The list goes on. The question is if Labour had been in power would that have occurred? Based on the previous Blair / Brown Governments you'd say not but 12 years is a long time so who knows.

There's no way that Labour would've cut the police numbers by around a third, which is what the Tories have done.

The Tories do it deliberately so that they can increase the numbers down the line to prove that they're the party of law and order.

They do it exactly the same with every major public sector employer.

Anyway, 3 of them came out of nowhere at me on Saturday evening on Belle Vue roundabout.
2 lads about 14 and an adult about 40. Had to do an emergency stop and nearly hit one of the lads. He just looked at me and gave me the one fingered salute before roaring off. None wore helmets....off road bikes.
Also saw the full compliment Sunday Marton Road Aldi was about 50 of them...
Thanks 👍

It's not just about police numbers which are ridiculously low but also about the fact that every police force have policies that prevent police from pursuing motorbikes due to safety issues. Ironically, if you don't tackle these issues the problem snowballs and the roads become increasingly dangerous as demonstrated in hartlepool 6 or 7 months ago with the death of a young lad who was killed on raby road whilst riding a quad bike.
