Cleveland Police - bikes/off-road vehicles

I hope no one has had the misfortune of coming across these absolutely reckless, dangerous, idiotic cretins today, but there have been reports and videos of what looks like hundreds of motorbikes and off-road vehicles driving in massive groups through Teesside, straight over or the wrong way around roundabouts, the wrong side of the road, in built up areas.

Apparently they’ve been through Linthorpe Road, Roman Road, Majuba Road, Coast Road Redcar, all the way through Marske high street to Saltburn today, even reports of them going onto the A66.

I’m not entirely sure how Cleveland Police should be handling this sort of issue but apparently this is the second weekend in a row where something like this has happened.

Cleveland Police have issued this statement:

Police are aware of a large group of people riding off-road bikes after a number of reports of antisocial driving in both #Middlesbrough and #Redcar.

Officers are in attendance and will take appropriate action wherever possible.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of those riding off-road bikes illegally or anyone who may be storing off-road bikes is asked to call 101.

Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111, or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
 
I passed them near Kirkleatham this afternoon about half 3. Couldn’t believe my eyes. Right near the police HQ too. They were on both sides of the road, and all the cars on both sides had to perform emergency stops as these bellends were riding all over the place. There was at least fifty bikes and quads with hardly any wearing helmets and I couldn’t see many number plates.
 
Was in Redcar with my boys this afternoon and they came flying past us on the Esplanade. Wrong side of the road, through red lights, ski masks on, no helmets. Absolute c0ck wombles.
 
Saw them twice first time must of been 80 of them going through Hartington interchange, half went up towards the A66, the other half past ALDI towards Newport, second time Trunk road as I left Tesco towards Normanby Road, straight towards me on both sides of the road doing wheelies.
 
Yes as the statement says, the Police are aware.
I suspect they don't have enough police on duty at any one time to deal with it.
 
Open season on these idiots, just ram them off the streets or taser away. Sod the human right laws, if you ride these illegally you loose that right. Get them bull bars fitted and ram away.
 
I wondered how long it would be before people realised that we basically dont have a police force.

On paper there are consequences that will deter the masses, but in practice you might have a handful of officers for the whole of the region on duty. No way are they going to touch anything that involves more than a few people.

If this group decide to riot as they push the boundaries there won't be anything to stop them.
 
It's completely out of control, even if they get caught it's just a slap on the wrist by the courts. People have had enough !
 
do you think its a phase for these kids and they go onto to live respectable lives or are they lawless scum, who need scattering with a sub machine gun. i tend to think its the latter

They should free issue bull bars to the local populace give us immunity from prosecution and let us play Carmageddon with the little scrotes, the Teesside version of the purge.

This is exactly the point.

Do people actually realise how many police are on shift at any one time? it is scary just how few police are working and how one pub fight can have them all tied up.

The courts have been cut back too. By the time the cases come up in a few years time it will be thrown out due to lost police reports (civilian staff paid off that looked after background stuff), witnesses unable to be traced and 'scrotes' now in full time work (having moved away, not round here) making sentencing difficult.

Vote Tory, this is the reality.
