Fracking…supported by Sunak and Truss

Both mentioned on the debate tonight they support it, which probably means they are going to push it when one of them gets into number 10. (Unless Liz Truss makes her 50th U-Turn) this is definitely going to re-open some old wounds for a lot of people.

Do the pro’s outweigh the con’s when it comes to fracking?

Only where the local population supports it! Whatever that means?

Liz Truss was truly awful, if they vote her in they are doomed.

So much for the polls.

Truss appears thicker than a boxing day turd, every time she opens her gob.
Sunak is a much more competent performer and seems to be offering fewer 🦄 's.

That show of hands totally reversed the polling opinions. Deep down they all know she is talking out of her hat. Her campaign team must have their heads in their hands at her astounding level of incompetence. Hers to lose they said, and she certainly is losing it. Bunter must be apoplectic that his horse is turning out to be an ass. And that the master plan of him riding to the rescue when PM RoboTruss implodes is now looking dead in a ditch, like he ought to be.

Not that I am making a case for more tory government under Sunak. They deserve every bit of the wilderness that awaits them.

And Truss is already proving to be as big a liar as Johnson.

Lied yesterday about her public sector policy fcuk up and lied tonight about not backing UK fighter's in Ukraine.

She has gone back on just about every belief and policy she has ever held, as far as I can tell.

Encountered Truss in 2001 when she stood against a friend, besides sh@gging a Tory MP how she ever became an MP will remain one of life's mysteries, how she got to Ministerial posts an even bigger one

You can get 7/1 on Sunak to win so I don't think the polls are wrong

No if they vote her. WE are all doomed.

( by the way they are going to vote her)

Watch big oil vs the planet and you see the destruction fracking causes. Fracking boom in America added 10 years onto the destruction of the planet and in no way in 2022 should a fracking boom in the UK begin ffs think outside the box

Gross personal ambition over saving the planet. She recognises that the Tory Party Members are simply only interested in themselves and being mostly an aged demographic don't give a flying fk about anyone else.
So she's gonna put a red pen through the green initiatives and promote O&G and Fracking.

150k people having a profund influence on the 60+ million of the rest of us and the future of the planet.
ALL that is wrong with our electoral system.

I watched the BBC documentary trilogy Big Oil v The World and it made for very scary viewing. Fracking was highlighted and there are billions of cubic feet of natural gas to be had all around the world, and most countries exploit it to varying levels of operational safety. However the danger of fracking is the uncaptured element of methane which escapes to the atmosphere and 10 times more damaging to the planet's environment than carbon dioxide. The US and the UK are committed to fracking but only as a bridging source of energy until safer sources can be found and utilised.

The alternatives ARE available NOW, they just cost more so are therefore less profitable for the O&G majors.
All of our UK O&G Companies are progressing cleaner schemes but as soon as Truss drops funding they'll all shut them down in favour of more traditional oil and gas sources of energy.

The people 3 and 4+ generations down the line will never forgive us..... we're tipping the planet beyond the point of no return in the name of profit and greed.

Heartbreaking.

What is the best alternative (genuine question)?

Renewables. The quickest would be onshore wind.

Sadly the Tories don't like onshore so we are allegedly building 10 Nuclear power stations in 10 years (never will happen).

Truss wants to reduce solar farms for some reason.
