If signings could’ve been done in time for Saturday…

Are we normally in on a Monday? Maybe to do some light work? I’m expecting announcements tomorrow if I’m honest but yeah I’ve found it a bit strange too

I don't know if there's been a change in the player registration process/contract legality approval but it does seem that transfers are taking longer to process than usual.

It was always "player X is in for his medical" and bang, they were announced holding a shirt up within hours.

Signings are taking longer to announce even after it being well documented that a medical has taken place. The Spence deal wasn't 'officially' announced until a week after photos were circulating of him in a Spurs shirt.

Brexit, getting overseas transfers and overseas players through the approval process could be longer.

There isn't really any rush to announce anything this week. As long as they are registered by noon Friday we are laughing. Players regularly train with their new club before the deals are announced

Got the impression from Wilder they were nearly there......as in far enough down the line so another team could not nip in and nab them. The players are coming. Final contractual bits to sort, no panic.
Saying that I think I've got RSI from refreshing pages on social media seeing if anything has happened.......

Likewise, I don’t see why the manager would say deals were so close to being done and then go completely quiet. Unless he said it as a distraction for something else, maybe. If they’re done then they’re done. If not then keep your mouth shut. Just my opinion though.

If we are going to talk about 'what it used to be like' then the first you knew about it was when you read it in the Gazette on the Friday and the new player was in the team on the Saturday. That's what happened with John Hickton anyroad.

There doesn’t seem to be any updates though. We still don’t really know who the players in question are. We are guessing (and probably rightly) that it’s Muniz and Hoppe based on a flight coming into Teesside airport and one of the players liking a few twitter posts. Ben Gibson has also liked a post today by a Boro fan, so by that logic he could be one of them.

With Forss there were loads of reports that he was having his medical etc and we knew it was going to be announced any time.

Well they have to undergo a parmo tasting test, then they go off to listen to a few Chris Rea an Whitesnake CD’s, an if they say they don’t like those the deal is off 😵‍💫

Maybe a new name comes into the hat , or clubs / agents change the goal posts .
Best not to rush when huge sums are involved , enough mistakes have been made by being too hasty in the past . I trust them to get it right this time

Football league world seem to think we haven’t even agreed a fee for Hoppe and that other clubs could come in. Doubt that’s one of the ones that’s close
