Payero

I have to question the 'class' aspect. If he was then he'd be a regular. I saw a couple of flashes of quality but frankly not enough.

If a championship club pays anywhere between 3-6mil for a playmaker then you'd want far more. I know he's and injuries and new country / league etc. Yet 2 managers didn't fancy him.

He seems to have a bit of a Sporar type 'cult' following. Yet I've seen nothing really from him. I ain't writing him off. Yet wouldn't be fussed as all if we moved him on. You'd forget we even had him in a year or so.

I mean if he stays and features as many times then you'd have to say he's a flop. Clearly Mcgree is already ahead of him in terms of selection.

Hope hes given another chance this season, he had a spell of about 8 games under Warnock where he looked like a class player!

Rumor's hes heading back to South America though....

My memory is pretty poor these days but I really don't remember this spell? He had a decent game against a poor Cardiff team and scored a good goal but I'm struggling to remember many other highlights last season.

He never played sufficient game to judge his worth. Seems very injury prone which does not bode well. Move on for me.

I say keep him. He's not really had a chance to adapt or prove himself properly.
certainly not against it, he was underwhelming to say the least last year. But the key for me is, has he put any effort into learning English, and how is his girlfriend settling in. If the answer is no, and badly, then it's not worth persevering, regardless of any underlying talent.

He showed glimpses of quality, but nowhere near "class".

Too early to judge him, but I suspect he doesn't have the skill set to play the wilder style. He isn't good enough out of possession to play either of the number 8 roles that Tav/Crooks play, neither is he defensively sound enough to play the Howson role in front of the back three. I'd be tempted to try him in pre season as a second striker and drop into space the way we tried to make Balogun/Sporar.

I’d love to know what games all those writing him off as underwhelming we’re watching as the lads has only played just over 500 mins in a boro shirt.

As others have said no one can write him off as no one has seen enough of him. Yet the whispering campaign continues.

Let’s see the lad play consistently before slagging him off.

Btw in the sparse appearances he did play he was part of the side that won at old Trafford and he almost scored a wonder goal on his debut.

a 10 role might suit him, he's certainly got a shot on him. But as I mentioned my big fear is that he isn't happy away from home, unable to speak the language, stuck with just his gf for company

Not against us keeping him if Wilder sees something in him but certainly wouldn’t be bothered if he left, looks completely lost whenever he’s on the pitch. He’s 23 years old and yet seems to have no clue what he’s doing out there, positionally all over the place, panics whenever the ball goes near him.

With the hype surrounding him when he signed I’d have at least expected some composure about him.

We signed him as a project, to give up on him after one season where he joined late, had an injury then a change of manager plus another injury would be complete madness, especially when we will likely loose money if we get rid now. Showed enough in the few games to show he was worth keeping
