So you're the manager, you've been handed the entire £20 million Spence fee + £3 million off Derby to create your ideal squad.

Who do you bring to fill the glaring gaps in the squad both starting and bench. Do any of the reserves/young players step up?

All theoretical and a bit of fun!

i wouldnt spend any of it on transfer fees- no need - use it for wages.

there are more decent players available for nowt than ever before

we are entering the next stage of the bosman when players run down their contracts and seek wages in preference to transfer fee percentages.

Ben Gibson - Permanent
Ryan Fredricks - Free Transfer
Gavin Kilkenny - Loan
Lucas João - Permanent
Cameron Archer - Loan
Jordan Rhodes - Free

Archer João

Daniels Dijksteel Fredricks Howson Mcgree Rhodes Watmore

I feel like that already would be much, much better!

Sign Gyokeres £15m Riis £7m and Joao using the money generated from sales plus Morris bonus
Trade McNair and Ikpeazu, spend a bit more, use frees and loans to recruit first team GK, DCM,LCB and LWB.

New GK,
Jones, Dijksteel, Fry, New LCB,New LWB
Crooks, New DCM, Payero/Tavernier (don't want another go with Diego)
Riis, Gyokeres

Strong bench: Hemming, Howson, Bola, Watmore, Payero/Tavernier, McGree and Joao. All first team options
Backed up Brynn/James, Fisher, Wood, Boyd Munce, Gibson and Academy.
Loan out Coburn (6 months) and Kavanagh (6 months)

Sell Spence, McNair, Ikpeazu, Akpom, Coulson
Free up Lumley, Daniels (unlucky), Hall, Olusanya, Ameobi,
 
Really can’t see us spending 15 mill on Gyokeres. As much as I would like to sign him I wouldn’t be spending that on him. Too much of a risk and if it goes wrong then we are ****ed.

He’s a must, alongside the other 2 you mention.

I can deal with Fry and McNair leaving but would be devastated to lose Dijksteel. If Fry was to leave for a decent fee and we replaced him with Lenihan on a free I do feel like that would be excellent business.
 
I'm a huge Dijksteel fan, I just think McNair edges it, solely my opinion though. Leinhan I'd be very happy with to
