I'm ready for a few pelters here

If he goes, we move on and I would get Mowbray back. If he stays we back him.

Imagine if we had this forum in 1992 when we sold Ripley, indicating very little ambition on promotion to the inargural Premier League, now that would have been something to see.

Absolutely not. All the man knows how to do is get teams to perform up until February. After that it’s same old same old. There is better managers than Tony Mowbray. Hopefully Wilder is going nowhere.

Blackburn have had an even bigger collapse since January than we have.

They were 3rd and 6 points clear of 7th on the 1st of January, they're now 8th and 10 points behind 3rd.

Mowbray did well in his time here, looking back in hindsight, he sowed the seeds for AK who nurtured them, but all his teams do well till January/February then form often falls away. It did with Boro, it does with Blackburn. He does not seem to have gotten to the bottom of why, so no from me.

I thought Mowbray did an underrated job here and would have loved to have seen what he could do with some money instead of the shambles we were after Strachan. I don't think now would be the time for Mowbray though, we are on an upward trajectory and I think we can do better at the moment.

We replaced Ripley with Tommy 'Get ya haircut' Wright for less than half the price.

But that was the trend back then sell Kernaghan for £1m+ and replace him with Steve Vickers

I'd have mogga back with a decent transfer kitty this time and not just bargain basement buys with the exception of kamara and Jutkiewicz

Inexperience hasnt worked with the likes of Woody and Monk but dinosaurs havent worked either with Pulis and Warnock

Look how many goes Sunderland have had with managers of late and none of them have been able to get them back up

Fixed, that's what we do. Don't want any previous manager back, we have a plan built around a vision of the way we want to play football and a recruitment model not based on the whims of a single manager. We recruit to fill that role if it becomes vacant, we rewrite a few songs and we move on.

Mowbray, Hugill, Lumley. All people I desperately wanted to do well for the club and go on to be cult heroes here. Sadly, it has'nt happened for any of them 😭

As much as I love and respect Mowbray I don't think that it's ever a good idea to manage a club that you used to play for. It always goes sour eventually and a lot of the fans will turn on you after a few bad results and it wasn't pleasant seeing that happening to Mowbray after everything that he did for us as a player.

I take your point, however I think we did well from the Kernaghan deal to Manchester City and Vickers did well for us
