Housing Ukrainian Families

I was watching the German people yesterday offering rooms to the Ukrainian families that arrived at the train station and wondered if anyone else had considered doing this and are there Ukrainian families in Britain that need our support?

I would be more than willing to take a Ukrainian family and offer them safety.

Not sure how we would go about doing this.

I don't think we could manage a whole family but certainly a single person.
Me and the Mrs are thinking about it.

Suggest you contact your MP. If they don't know they should be able to find out.
 
One hundred percent behind this. We’ve quite a large house for just me and Ms Sisyphus . Sadly, I think the Tories will keep the entry requirements so high we won’t have the opportunity.
 
Same here. Difference to Germany is they are letting in any Ukraine refugees where as nasty us is only allowing those with close family connections

Since the 2nd World War Germany has a rich history in taking in refugees and those seeking political asylum.
Their numbers put us little Englanders to shame.

There is probably a very good, and pretty obvious reason why because of what happened in WW2. And a duty to atone for what happened. A more simplistic answer might be it's next to Poland where a majority of refugees are heading. They do seem to step up don't they.

I have emailed Rishi Sunak last week as I wanted to apply to be a sponsor but there was no information about how to do this.

I'd imagine only a few people will be helped under this world beating system.

They can't even sort out the family scheme so to get the sponsorship route underway would be a miracle.

I am disgusted with how our Government have handled the Ukrainian refugees but it is no surprise. Their policy for years has been to actively repel refugees from entering the UK. This policy has been very public and one of the many reasons I won't vote Conservative.

If you have voted Conservative and are equally disgusted you should have a long hard look at yourself in the mirror as you share the blame.
 
There's an Urgent Question in parliament now which she should've attended.

She has sent The Immigration Minister instead.

I can't say I'm surprised any more by these chancers but what a horrible bunch of incompetents they are.

They mess up everything they touch - If you did the same at work you would get the sack for being incompetent, this lot get moved to another department to **** that up.

You honestly couldn't make it up.
