This is a good point. They are controlling the narrative and need to release the story when they have the least chance of being grilled by the opposition.
Also the fact that nearly every cabinet minister today is tweeting about "political point scoring" . That's a way of guaranteeing that Kier can't respond for the time being.

Neither he, his wife, the government or those supporting them in the media are looking good at the moment.
His wife paints a fabricated story of their illness, leaving out the pertinent details of how they travelled to Durham because of how desperate they were to ensure their son was looked after. Or was it just Dom himself who went which means she's lied about watching him in bed for 10 days. Contradicting the local police is just contemptible too.
There's more holes in the whole story than Swiss cheese and they know fine we'll that Starmer would have exposed the whole lot of them if he'd had chance to grill Johnson before the spin doctors have had 10 days to do their work.
Sadly it'll make little difference to those people who voted them in.

The rules are quite clear. As I have already pointed out Johnson specifically said in a speech that grandparents aren't to look after children. Not sure what point you are trying to make anymore. Not sure why you don't find this behaviour appalling

The one point that stands out is that they are contradicting the police - not sure why they would do that when it is likely that the police can look in their records to confirm this or are the police not telling the truth. One of them has to be wrong.

personally I think he should go for what he has done, I’m just trying to find a bit of balance by asking what those with kids would have done in these circumstances? Point being the chances are many of us would probably have being the rules in these circumstances.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist at all but there's also something disturbing going on with twitter right now. There are so many tweets about this, that different variations of his name with references to this have been trending during the day. Someone somewhere however is removing them all so if you enter #dom- etc nothing appears, and yet it was 20 minutes earlier. There's something suspicious going on somewhere. Everytime he trends, it disappears very quickly.

I wouldn’t travel 260 miles in case we were both debilitated

The people who abided by the rules were thinking about everyone's children not just their own.
It sounds like some MPs still haven't grasped how the virus works, its highly infection to at least 20% of the population, you have the ability to kill others by going out of the house, possibly killing many. You stay indoors not just to protect yourself but to more importantly to protect many others.
