It is very apparent in hindsight that we should never have become dependant on Russia for energy. However, that clip should not in any way excuse Trump for the destabilising effect he has had and continues to have on the Western Alliance.
The world badly misjudged Putin, but the past has already been written. We now need to ensure that there is actually a future to write about and that means that we need to extricate ourselves from Russian influence.
 
Its a real worry that an accident could easily see direct contact between NATO and Russians.

I just counted 7 USAF Stratotankers (fuel tankers) on station just off Ukraine, some for as long as 5hrs. Few of them have flown out of Mildenhall. They must have a lot of invisible assets in the air currently on the border.

Some odd 'no call sign' flights appearing out of nowhere in Polish air space right on Ukraine border, heading west.

Russian oligarchy need to step in and end Putin before he bankrupts them. I can live in hope.

Trump = even a broken clock is right twice a day. Yes they in hindsight shouldn't have brokered those deals.

They will end up paying for it with a couple of years of energy crisis. But they have to cut Russia off economically as soon as possible for their sake and everyone elses

don't be a prat, this isn't about the labour party....but if Starmer is trying to stop negative comments from Corbyn maybe it's because the bigger picture of unity is more important.

The voice of the Russian people has heartened me today...enormously...I feel that this will back fire on putin
He will never leave Russia again I think as he is likely to be arrested for war crimes if he does.
Good on you people or Moscow...stand up and be heard despite the barbaric treatment of protesters.
Maybe the world isn't quite so polarised after all

For every Russian that opposes the action, there is another who is for it. From what I can see it tends to be older people who still believe in communism and the Soviet Union.
