I think the real image to shock us will be when the tanks arrive as that truly is iconic to see foreign tanks rolling through a major European capital, as few if any of us will have seen anything like that before n our lifetime.

Not as simple as that. Some believe the propaganda. Some want things to change but have families etc, they can’t afford to be thrown in jail and lose everything for anti-state activities. I’d love to get into the thick of it but any westerner will be accused of being a foreign agitator and ringleader, nice propaganda coup right there.

I knew that bit, but why after he is no longer president is he going out of his way to so publicly back him?

He's paid off hookers in the past and banged pornstars, surely a phucktape with a couple of Russian lasses wouldn't have him so utterly pegged into submission?

I do accept that. I was more hinting at protests etc but can understand why there will be those who won't want to get involved.
