One doctors view of the Thursday applause.

I think that's the same for the majority of people erimus. There are those who will applaud, those who choose not to, and plenty who will be seen to over politicise a simple event.
I don't think by choosing to applaud briefly on a Thursday evening is a particularly big deal. Let's give a tiny shot in the arm (🤔) for those members of the NHS who maintain professional standards in their work.
Well put Barnsy🌞👍

As for ‘pathetic from The Guardian’. Nothing better than reading just what you are happy with. Makes you so much more rounded
Probably the most hypocritical post ever made on this forum. It’s literally full of people with the same views reading the exact same information. Talk about reading what your happy with!!

Laughing - What doctor? The mysterious no named one? Ok then I believe all the ones on social media that come up with conspiracy theories. Let’s twist it then. It’s a no named doctor saying he loves the applause each week and thinks the government are doing a great job in The Mail. You’d be all over carrying “Dominic Cummins!!!” What your doing is taking information that suits your agenda but would dismiss it if other way round in exact same scenario.

Whetever happened to them 200 twitter accounts thst apparently the government had set up? Another bogus story from a anti government source which turned out to be lies. Probably like this.
And what am I??? A member of public who exercised his right to vote in an election? A father? A civil servant who has worked every day since this began? Or someone who should be publicly flogged for exercising my right to vote. Instead of criticising you should be asking why I voted thst way in the 1st place but most don’t seem to look that far!
I agree Cooper.

The Gruniad is a mouthpiece for the Establishment and the most reliable source of anonymous "leaks" [Home Office and Military Intelligence psychop`s], particularly during the recent election Campaign. Its production line of accusations of the "anti-semitism crisis" in the Labour Party, amounted to a deliberately organised and co-ordinated campaign to undermine and destroy opposition to support for apartheid Israel.

It is now a neutered politically unhinged rag with the likes of Owen Jones, pontificating from some self - appointed high moral platform. The well fed middle-class ex-Trotskyist was as instrumental in suppressing free speech as some opponents of Jermy Corbyn [labeling criticism of Israeli Government as "anti-semitic"] and those who supported Human Rights, including the rights of Julian Assange - whose only crime is to tell the truth. Owens silence when the big-guns were firing broadside during the election [in my eyes] make him complicit in the campaign to destroy any chance Labour had of election as the legitimate Government.

Anyone with a serious interest in "democracy" must avoid "mainstream" [Capitalist owned] media [though occasionally the Establishment lets truths "leak"] - when the elite doesnt have an agreed line of attack.

I agree with you Cooper. I am neither support Labour / Momentum or Anarchism, but neither am I a Christan [though I have 9 bibles and have read and been preached huge tract of the dusty book]. Fascism doesnt gain any sympathy or congruence from me, although I have read Mein Kampf ["My Struggle"]. The point being is that its not what you read or why, but how you interpret what you read and how you apply it to the world around you.

You cannot label someone and attribute beliefs and stereotypes by what Newspaper you read. Just like yourself Cooper: Im sure it would be remis of me to attribute any prejudice or stereotype you based ob your posts on this site.

You dont always make that difficult though on occasion.

To make a mistake once is understandable.
To make a mistake twice is regrettable.
To make the same mistake a third time is unforgivable.

Couldn't agree more.. no paper has fallen more than the guardian the last couple of years.. since Rudsgbringer left really.

It's Corona coverage has been absolutely pathetic to the point where it's finally costing the last of its traditional readership. Now all that is left is the pseudo liberal intelligencia that stewart Lee satirises so well. The irony.

I think the NHS workers in general are pleased that their dangerous working conditions are being recognised, to be honest Ive always thought they were top ho, I dont clap mind but cant see anything the matter with it.

Even if Tories voters do clap they are entitled to, as I do hope they can see and maybe now realise how many lives they have helped cut short by voting for the Tories, especially over the last 10 years and perhaps it might cross their minds after this.

A couple of extra bob and swaggering in your estate of little boxes never really meant a lot did it, think a little progressive and deeper. Love ordinary people dont hate them. After all your just a wandering blob like the rest of us.

Yep let's always turn a positive around to start a political debate

I think its a good thing to clap Erimus, it seems its helping and encouraging the NHS staff to keep going through a lot of adversity and danger. No matter what your political leaning if it helps it helps.

We are run in life by politics and they decide the outcome of who has a better chance to be rich and who may become poor, who lives and who dies. We know that when we are brought up, Im not staunchly Labour but found there isnt anybody else that cares despite faults. Some see life as dog eat dog maybe didnt have much to fall back on , and although their is some truth in that, in the long run we all need each other.

What National paper would you consider other than The Guardian? The Independent perhaps, but I can't think of another one that is fit for anything other than bog paper.

Yep agree there Ticker

There's an article in the independent, which I would link if it wasn't such a faff on this Amazon Fire, but it's on the website today about not clapping for key workers, some of the comments suggest we should instead boo the govt every Thursday instead
