New Music

Sam Jordan & The Dead Buoys. Not quite completely new, been releasing EP's for a few years but, frustratingly, have gone completely AWOL. It's the project of singer/writer Sam Jordan, it's really his show. The run of EP's were fantastic, full of epic sounding tracks like this. Dark, atmospheric, moody as f*ck and boy, can the lad sing! I've been expecting a debut LP that shows no signs of coming, real shame. Hoping he/they re-appear soon.

Really like that and a few other tracks I played on YouTube. TBH I thought I had already posted him but I was getting mixed up with a track it reminds me of buy David Keenan called Altar Wine on page 17 of this thread. Don't mean they sound the same just have similar feel IMO.

Just had a listen to the 'Alter Wine' track (y) Vocally quite different but similar musically and both clearly real storytellers. Both young but write like they've lived a life. (y)

Just bought "Reunions"

WHAT.

AN.

ALBUM.

If there is a finer singer/songwriter working anywhere in any genre on any continent, I'd be utterly amazed. Saw him years ago with the Drive By Truckers at The Cluny in Newcastle, one of the loudest and best gigs I've ever been to. My mate who saw The Who play at The Valley reckoned that DBT were louder!

He does a mean cover version too. Youtube for his playing Oh Well, Brothers in Arms and/or Tied to the Whipping Post (Fleetwood Mac, Dire Straits, Allman Brothers respectively) among others.
