Lee Dixon

It was bizarre how long he was waffling on about it for.

We all know the goal shouldn't have stood if the onfield referee had seen it, he didn't.

I was glad that Ian Wright shot him down in the 105th minute when he tried to moan about it again.

Sorry, poor wording, I mean that everyone watching the match tonight realised that the goal wouldn't have stood if Anthony Taylor has seen the handball and deemed it deliberate.

Lee Dixon was still yapping on about it 40 minutes later.
I'd understand if he was Man U fan, he supports Man City.

watched it on Bein in Thailand and the guy there said if it was accidental and he didnt score then its ok..... even an assist is ok , some new rule
Glad we were on the right side of it, obviously, but whoever signed off on that rule change or had anything to do with it should be put to sleep.

If someone paid me huge amounts of money to sit in the best seats in the house for the very biggest games and talk about a sport that has been my passion and livelyhood, I think I would be delighted. For Dixon I get the impression that he actually hates the game, and pehaps feels like he has wasted his entire life - why else would he sound so utterly miserable the entire time?

Judged as ball to hand, would have resulted in a free kick for United last season but not with the recent rule change. We rode our luck and were outplayed by a far better team but as Wilder said, "the FA cup is alive and kicking." I thought McNair was outstanding last night.

Mark Lawrenson is often the same way IMO.

I think the on field officials did see it and correctly deemed it accidental.

That said, I didn’t even celebrate because I thought the rule was that if a handball leads to a goal it will be disallowed, regardless of intent.

Thankfully the rule has changed and we got a bit of luck.

Dixon couldn’t accept he was wrong and tried to pass it off as some kind of miscarriage of justice. He should have just admitted he didn’t know about the change in rule and accepted it was correctly applied.

But the guy is a tool. He simply doesn’t understand or is unwilling to accept the rules of the game.

Heard his say many times “you can’t have it both ways” when there is a foul and the ref plays on and then you lose the ball and want the free kick. You can Lee, refs often bring it back if an advantage doesn’t develop.

He’s simply an idiot who thinks he understands the game because he could play it.

And as part of my salary I'd consider it prudent to maybe attend a course/seminar to refresh my understanding of the rules before the start of each season.

We rode our luck last night, but for a team of United resources they were poor, the commentary was very biased.
