Well, the hair clippers have arrived!

It's in a book, I can send you the PDF, but to get the best out of it you'll benefit from having a cast iron dutch oven. You can do it without it though, just you get the best results with one imo.

i have a cast iron casserole pot sort of thing, plus a regular English oven. Might that work? Suppose there's only one way to find out!

A dutch oven is basically a cast iron casserole pan, just bigger. you just put it in a normal oven and heat it up. I have a Lodge one and it was a bomb but its very good, but its the sort of thing you can probably pick up used quite cheap and cast iron lasts practically forever if well looked after. even if it looks *****, just sand it down with steel wool and season it and it'll be like a new pan.

if its oven safe (i.e the chrome bit on the lid) and its cast iron that will be ideal.

you bake it for the first part with the lid on, and then take it off for the last 20 mins or so

Oooh never thought about the chrome bit. Its metal, but I could easily unscrew that off, the main thing is cast iron. I think I'll have a bash, what's the worst that can happen. I've got a fire blanket and extinguisher 😆

if its cast iron id be surprised if it had a part that wasn't oven safe as that would probably defeat the whole purpose of cast iron. but you never know! can you not google the brand and find a listing, that will probably tell you?

The handle should be fine, it looks similar to mine. Yesterday though, I baked a small loaf with no recipe and put it in my wife's casserole dish to bake. We've had this dish for years and used it in the oven many times but never on full power. Anyway this was the result..crack.jpg
Going to have to send for a new (metal) handle.

I was a gift and I've chucked the box out. I will try to image search though to check

Edit: think it should be ok? Not cast iron as I thought though, should've known from the weight
