The rematch is supposed to be on and it may well get announced. But have been told that it's not going to happen any time soon. Fury is also staying away from Usyk and doesn't want that fight. It will be interesting to see how it develops.

You only need to see the who the poster is to know who reliable his information is.... About as much as his tips.

Looks like things are now starting to develop.

The Usyk team have known for a while that Joshua wasn't keen on the rematch. They've desperately been trying to make the undisputed fight with Fury but either Fury or/and his team haven't seemed keen.

Fury's preferred option is Robert Helenius or Manuel Charr. But it's difficult to see that being credible. I suspect what might happen is that the Fury team will refuse step aside money for Joshua and Whyte (to allow Usyk v Fury) so he'll end up fighting Whyte. That's as long as Whyte doesn't pursue legal action for a bigger % of the split. A similar scenario happened when Fury was supposed to be fighting Joshua. That fight was ready to go, but the Fury team refused a deal where Wilder got step aside money. That meant Fury avoided Joshua and got to fight Wilder again. Wilder would have accepted the step aside and a shot at the winner. Of course he would, he'd have been fighting for the undisputed for more money plus with step aside already banked.

The above scenario would probably leave Usyk in limbo as Joshua definitely doesn't want the rematch at the moment. The rematch could get made, but he'd probably pull out with an injury.

The person who has to be very careful in all of this is Usyk. He's the real champion and wants to fight the best out there for all the belts. Fury, Joshua and Whyte are all playing games to a certain extent. They've all got issues and insecurities.

Of course, there is a chance Fury might take the Usyk fight if the there's no other option. But Fury can't beat Usyk, so it's difficult to see it happening next.

By all means say you think Usyk will win. But not sure how you can say Fury can’t beat Uysk. Surely any top heavyweight has a chance against anyone. One well timed punch landing perfectly on the chin / temple and it’s good night.

All things being equal, Usyk will beat Fury. Obviously things can happen, but it's unlikely.

Perhaps I should? If you compare the date of my OP to their article 😆

If AJ was to step aside (he's already come out and denied it), the money would have to come from Top Rank/Bob Arum. Not a chance Arum pays another fighter £15m to step aside, especially one that he doesn't promote! He doesn't even pay his own fighters that well with maybe the exception of Fury!

Think Usyk's promotor is K2 (co promoted with Matchroom), not sure K2 have that kind of money to pay either!

AJ didn’t necessarily deny it, he said he hasn’t seen or signed a contract. Didn’t say he was fighting Uysk and getting his belts back either which I imagined a defiant boxer may have said.

Also had this great choice of words.

It wouldn't be Top Rank or K2 paying the step aside. It would be a site deal where a country such as Saudi Arabia would be paying it. They'd likely do a deal to host a subsequent fight as well.

Usyk doesn't or at least didn't have a contract with Matchroom. They are only normally involved with him when he's fighting or building up to fight Matchroom fighters.
