That's what did for Labour at the last election. Nothing to do with a rejection of Corbynism. Just idiots preferring Bozo repeating 'Get Brexit done' over and over again. If the will was there then Starmer could have definitely forced Johnson to resign by now. Today is the first time I've actually heard him call for it. He normally leaves that to the SNP.
Absolute rubbish. Voted Labour all my life. I realised that they would do nothing for this region as they took our support for granted. I could never vote for Corbyn and heard the same from many friends and relatives and lots of interviews on the street. The left will never agree that their leader was a turn off for many of their supporters but the results will always show he was.

How about the 2017 result? How does that fit in to your warped view of things? The entire press smearing him and his own party stabbing him in the back and he still wiped out May's majority and sent her running off to beg the DUP to prop up her government. We obviously move in different circles mate. I don't know anyone who is going to vote for Starmer.

As the saying goes bumface, twos company, threes a crowd mate
Never had you down as a prude Erimus. Nobby won't be alone anyway. He always brings a 'friend'. It was a Curlew last time. I made him put it back where he found it though. He just can't help himself. He has a condition. It's not his fault and he deserves our support.

Why? Since winning the leadership he's told us he's against increasing corporation tax, he's against nationalising energy even if energy companies are in crisis, he's in favour of undercover police infiltrating trade unions, he's against teachers unions having a say on covid safety conditions in school...

It's not an insult to say he's quite right wing, it's just an observation. Some people are quite right wing. Why would it be wrong to acknowledge that?
The leader doesn't make the policies, that's done through the national policy forum through a wide range of party members and their representative bodies, the leader represents the wishes of the party.

You can argue that leaders have different personalities and beliefs and of course will have some influence over policy, but policies taken forward to fight on are owned by the party members. There are plenty of opportunities at a local level to raise and suggest policy and motions, however most people aren't even members or if are don't actively get involved and just offer simplistic criticism from the sidelines.

As a Corbyn supporter and on the left, as frustrating as it is to see the party change direction I lukewarmly will carry on being a supporter to ensure the removal of this disastrous government, labour may not be all I wish for at the moment but they are an opposition and a big alternative to what we have and I will continue to urge people to vote Labour and rid the country of this absolute shambles of a so called government.

I just find it difficult to believe people voted knowing full well poverty was increasing every year they had power, and was only continuing to increase. What sort of person just ignores that?
People who don't give a sh*t about other people? Seems like the obvious answer to me and unfortunately this country is full of them.

I don't remember a Labour win in 2017. Oh that's right they didn't. Stamer gives Labour a much better chance of winning despite all the Labour voters you know voting for someone else.

No point in winning if nothing changes mate. No idea why people can't see that on here.

There have been a lot of changes in the last 11 years. If only Labour had won power, nothing would have changed and a lot of us would have been far happier.

This. Again and Again and Again. Blame Brexit
Yes Brexit was a factor in that Corbyn's childish fence sitting gave the populace another reason to dislike him and his policies. And he didn't have one on Brexit.
Corbyn and his supporters are the reason we have Boris. It really is as simple as that.
The Labour Party finally saw what he'd done.
And now he's gone, damage done and we're still trying to pick up the pieces.

You live on a different planet to me mate. A few people in key marginals not voting for Corbyn's Labour in 2017 is why we're stuck with Johnson. You're a bit weird. And just plain wrong on this occasion. Picking up the pieces? That's hilarious.

And the anti-semitism. And Diane Abbott.
Sadly, very sadly, I live on a planet with Boris Johnson as PM
Because the Tories got 13,966,454 votes and Labour got 10,269,051 and a Landslide Majority
The public voted for an obvious buffoon, because of Corbyn.
There is nothing wrong about any of that.

I was a big fan of Corbyn and ideally would have loved for him to have been elected to run this country but it was never going to happen in a million years. Starmer may not be the person many labour voters would ideally choose but looking at it pragmatically he has a genuine chance of getting rid of this corrupt government.
It's a bit like someone saying to you would you rather have a poster of a Ferrari that you can look at and futily dream about owning or own a normal car you can actually use and drive. Or you can fight about it and continue to walk to work whilst the rich bloke laughs at you with contempt from his Rolls Royce.
