Chris - I have been saying this for weeks regarding testing of footballers and key workers. The number of tests required to make restarting football work right now is abhorrent. If there is such extra lab capacity to test footballers and support staff 2/3 times a week, then that capacity should be used to ensure frontline workers get increased testing and receive their results faster.
Especially as it may well happen at the same time as a spike in new infections start coming through due to the easing of restrictions.

There's a lot of disingenuousness going on here.wish Id thought of that
Zoophonic, i'm quite happy that the current league starts & complets their fiixtures only when normality has been resumed, if it means the Boro go down, then so be it, for fairness of sport EVERY league throughout the land should complete their fixtures, something I've said from the very beginningSeems obvious to me that the views on whether the Leagues should be null and vouded depend on which Club you support. Not surprising most of us wanting to see them end given that we are safe and hate Leeds.
Even when I hear someone like a doctor opine on radio I think to myself “well I guess he supports Everton”
Since the PL started, chairman have been treating football as a business brand, which is all well and good but when in the face of a global crisis like this, they also need to accept that they are just that, a business.
Many business's in the UK are suffering, many cant open with millions of jobs at risk if they go under and there's the key workers putting thier lives at risk everyday.
Football is not a special case. If clubs go under or Sky/BT have their profit margins reduced then so be it as unfortunate as the outcomes may be. The restart should only be going ahead when critical resources that save lives are not being diverted away from the NHS, care homes or other key workers.
