Press Conference 2pm

It doesn't matter how many were out through covid and how many injured. From the perrspective I am giving, poviding the rules are applied equally, we get on with it, just like blackpool did. I think blackpool had 5 center backs playing, possibly senior center backs, but still an organizational nightmare for the manager.
It should matter though. Games have not been postponed in the past due to injuries. It was part of the game.

Injuries can’t be transmitted to other players and teams. These are unique times.

Like I said before if there was some transparency and we could see that everyone was being treated the same I would have no issue.

This, which is why I get so frustrated when I hear certain managers moaning about selection issues yet can still field a team of internationals!

We need to see if we are being treated fairly in comparison to others in similar situations, if it’s true rules have been changed to get the fixture played on TV then ourselves and probably other teams no doubt will have comment and possible redress.

Wilder sounds confused mote than anything. He says he thinks the EFL have had so much stick from all angles that they’ve decided to put to their foot down. But as he says, this is an actual outbreak at the training ground which is more than likely to get worse over the next 2-3 days. We’re going down to Sheffield and may well dump the infection down there in their changing rooms and they’ll become infected and have to deal with it.

Making the club, any club, in the midst of an outbreak play games and travel to another part of the country is genuinely dangerous.

Newcastle game off due to them not having 14 fit players, but surely they have players out on loan and youngsters?

Exactly this, at one stage she said something about Public Health England. Also two symptomatic players being sent down to Sheffield, but in Isolation. That’s crazy. At some point Sheff Utd have a duty of care to there employees

But they are not though so why say it.
Zorro I don't know if the rules are being applied equally. There isn't a lot of transparency. You have to be able to field a squad of 14,irrespective of the reason for the absences. If you have 3 covid and hatfull of injuries you may still be eligible for a postponement.

We don't know what's gone on at other clubs.

My main points were the 2 latter points about health and safety and young players careers
