Matt Crooks

Great first half but doesnt have the legs. Actually intelligent player when hes not blowing.

Maybe if we didnt give the ball away so often might be an asset.

I do think he's been a decent signing but he doesn't get his head up quick enough to shoot a quick counter, too many safe balls and that's from all our midfielders not just crooks.

Some people haven't got a clue. After a slow start we played some lovely football tonight. Again created lots of chances. Our pressing (while not perfect) was the best it's been for years. We worked the keeper on multiple occasions. We still didn't take our chances and let in 2 **** goals. Rome wasn't built in a day, but I was impressed with what he has achieved in a very short space of time. We just need to cut out the sloppy goals (which was a problem under Warnock).

I thought he linked up well with Jones down the right side first half. He was full of endeavour first half but I have also noticed he does seem to fade in the 2nd half.

Runs around lots of square balls. He was good first, passenger second. We were good value for the lead first half but fitness and concentration cost us a point. Again we didnt get the second goal when we were on top so cant complain. We had the chances

In a derogatory sense?

He's very mobile and very fit, but given the ground he covers he's bound to tire at some point.

The quality of his passing has really surprised me, its been excellent and he always looks to play it forwards when he can, but it's a fact that even the most creative midfield players make a lot of 'square balls', for every creative pass there's always going to be a handful of simple ones.

For me he's been our best buy for quite some time, a goalscoring midfielder who is strong, athletic and can play too, is the player we thought we'd signed when We paid £7m for Saville.

No just as in thats what he does. I dont think hes great tbh and we need better to push for the play offs whether thats this season or next. Someone elss said it really well on another thread. Something along the lines of despite the positives from Tuesday such as more posession, sustained pressure. The players we have already with maybe 3 or 4exceptions, and all of Warnocks signings just arent fit or very good. The goals we conceded tell you everything you need to know about this squad. I dont see Crooks becoming a Leadbitter type signing and see him more fading from memory as soon as we get some proper footballers
