Which U21 were we scouting

I'm definitely out of touch. I only know 5 of them😂

Im not sure Pep will loan out Palmer. We saw what he was like with Foden and Delap. The can make them better at City (hardly suprising).

We have 3 players on loan. How many are you allowed?

Is it bad that I don't know most of those players??!!
Nope....im the the same. I used to look at the U21s and pretty much know all of them.

I guess maybe 'back in the day' they got more game time in club football. The majority are now U23s and academy 'next big things' that you only see in the League Cup.

I'm suprised more champo youngsters don't get a look in. I'm not saying Tav should have been picked in the past yet he'd clocked over 100 appearances for Boro by the time he turned 22. I doubt these lot have that combined.

Ha! Phew! Thought it was just me!

Yeah, I used to be able to reel them all off too. I guess it's coz they played for their club and had a presence. I'm thinking most of these young lads play for the big clubs' reserve team and may get on the bench occasionally.

Yeah, agreed, you would think that playing week in week out would merit inclusion. I mean, when does Southgate and the u21's see these kids play? Do they go to the reserve games?!

Of that list, I'd say there's only Skipp, Aarons, Gallagher and Guehi that you "should" know.

Unless I'm mistaken, they're the only ones that are regular starters at their clubs.

Anthony Gordon has been playing a fair bit off the bench for Everton too.

I guess only Aarons and Skipp have more than 25 league starts out of the whole squad? Definitely changing times EDIT based on TeaCider post....yeah forgot Guehi played a season on loan at Swansea...guess he could be seen as one of the overlapping CB roles?

Suppose the other thing to take into account is there's probably 7 or 8 players who'd be eligible (and who you'd have heard of) but they get called up to the full squad instead.
Reece James, Jude Bellingham, Emile Smith-Rowe, Saka, Foden all still eligible and in the full squad.

Sancho and Greenwood not in the squad but eligible too. That is the core of an U21 champion team.

Bellingham Foden
Sancho ESR Saka

Gallagher has been phenomenal for Palace this season so far too

Could be wrong but I'm not sure Bursik is Stoke's first choice keeper? Would be a very good choice and upgrade on what we have.

Palmer would be excellent but as above, can't see Pep letting him leave - he's been involved in Europe in the last few months.

Balogun is a good shout.
