Cummings on Johnson

The main difference between Cummings and Johnson is that Cummings wanted responsibility without the limelight and Johnson wants the limelight without the responsibility, Cummings is a loner, who shuns personal interaction as much as possible and relies on his process and procedures rather than the emotional and personality approach of Johnson, Cummings, I believe like Blair, will lie to protect or promote, Johnson I believe is a compulsive liar who lies out of habit and has no grasp of the truth, he wouldn't necessarily benefit from his lies but the cult around his personality protects him from the same scrutiny and consequence that Cummings and Blair, for example, would face. Of Cummings and Johnson, I'd not fully trust either but I believe Cummings has a handle on the truth and would only be dishonest to protect himself or his own agenda.

I honestly don't believe anyone thinks that Johnson is capable of doing the details part of the job of Prime Minister anymore but there are plenty who still believe his personality and public performance more than offset that obvious deficiency within the Johnson skill set.
One of my client's is married to a senior civil servant, he told me this about 3 months into Boris's Premiership. He said Boris was more hands off the day to day stuff than any other Prime Minister in living memory. He told me that Cummings was running the country with Boris as the figurehead.

I've said from the start of his premiership that Johnson's one saving grace is that he's lazy. Imagine how awful things could get when he's ousted and replaced with a really malignant, hard-right ghoul, driven and dedicated to the cause.

This is a Labour Echo Chamber... the rest of England is very much pro-tory
Being in tune with the tuneless does not make you in tune....in a room of screaming kids the kid that screams loudest isn't seen to be the one in charge but that's what Johnson is, when a calm measured response is required we get an act of farce, when clarity is needed we are given labyrinthine verbosity, when competence is necessary we're treated to bumble and bluff, when it's time to face the music the conductor hides in a fridge, or on the sunbed of his billionaire Benhavisian benefactor, there are dozens of Conservative MP's who would have done a better, less corrupt and more competent job as PM, to suggest that the criticism of Johnson and his performance is purely an anti-Conservative echo is fallacy and an attempt at avoidance of scrutiny on the conduct of Johnson himself as PM, when his conference speech contained every 'fact' as a verifiable and ascertained lie, that is not doing ok, it's taking the liquid excrement consisting of water, salts, and urea.

We will agree to dis-agree, which is fine, i respect your opinion is different to mine.... that's how life works

I think the Dominic Cummings story still has a long way to go - it wouldn't surprise me if he still had plenty of aces up his sleeve, and in fairness his testimony seemed far more plausible than the response which was BJ, perhaps the biggest liar there has ever been in UK politics, trying to dismiss it as lies. It's up there with Cameron 'not justifying it with a response' when it was suggested he'd had intimate relations with a pigs head. In both cases, had both Johnson and Cameron been telling the truth I have no doubt they'd have taken legal steps to prove so.
I am not arguing that he was lying I am saying that was the last time he was relevant. He may have evidence he may not but either way his appearance at committee was a fiasco.

Really? You think Corbyn is/was corrupt?
I haven’t seen any evidence. The point I was trying to make is that there are decent MPs with principles. The bunch in power will do anything to achieve and maintain power. They have no principles and will screw you and me over if/when it suits them.
No evidence?

In the past couple of days JC ( with Abbott and McDonnell) backed a woman who has been found guilty of threatening a rival with acid other heinous offences. You most have been in hibernation.

Did they back her or give a witness statement?

Yeah that's fine and I respect your opinion, and if I can be so bold as to offer you some friendly advice, agreeing to disagree is not going to garner you influence in the wider world and as someone who has previous experience of the industry you're looking at moving and shaking, GB News will have been far better funded, marketed and supported than anything that anyone in Teesside or the North East, for that matter can muster, don't think a small squeeze box is an indication of having a wider relevance, but good luck, I don't agree with the horse you've backed and the message you're choosing to promote but I wouldn't wish failure on anyone at a personal level.

Corbyn, for better or worse, is one of the least 'corrupt' politicians I can think of. Suggesting Corbyn is corrupt is like suggesting Boris Johnson is a conscience politician.

And I thought that part of civil servants job was to be discreet. An essential part too.😜
