Just because Erimus has his head down focusing on what’s around him, doesn’t mean he’s not aware of them. I haven’t actually seen him defend brexit in relation to what’s happening.

from what I gather he says as long as his family at Xmas it’s not important to him what’s available to eat

If been simple means I'm happy in life, got everything I need, a loving wife, kids & many friends, while happy to post on things that will put a smile on people's faces, bring back nice memories of good times, as opposed to always been offended & angry, then OK yes, I'm quite happy to be simple

It's more has attempts to deflect and make jokes about the food shortages. It's not a good look but I hope it's just because he doesn't understand how bad things are. I hope it's just that

It's exactly the way I feel. He's making jokes and deflecting from the problems of brexit. He's either a bit simple or he CAN see the country is going down the pan and finds it funny

You're right. Maybe he's embarrassed about how bad brexit is. But he can't bring himself to admit that so he just tries to deflect everytime. It could be that but I still find the jokes about food shortages extremely distasteful

If they were food shortages in that people are starving they would be distasteful but they are really not - all the supermarket bosses will tell you there is scarcity in some lines and maybe less choice - but that is not really food shortages consistent with your outrage. I think that why people are joking about it.

a few other observations:
Nobody has to explain which way they voted to anybody on here
Those who do say which way they voted don’t have to defend their choice to anybody on here
They don’t have to be punished for their choice nor seek forgiveness from anybody on here.

Reading the abuse ST dishes out to perfectly reasonable posters makes me sometimes wish I was a Brexiteer

Food shortages, especially self inflected ones. Aren't funny in my book. Regardless of the scale of them a food shortage is still a food shortage
 
Just for the avoidance of all doubt. I'm angry at the destruction brexit is doing to my country.

When people defend this damage, or deflect from it, or make jokes about it I react in a tone that reflects this anger.

I'm not going to apologise for being upset at people laughing about food shortages or energy prices 4 times that of our neighbours, or job losses. Or the restriction in freedom of movement that has all been brought about by brexit. To defend brexit right now, with everything wrong with it, is something worthy of incurring my displeasure for so many obvious reasons

I think calling out a poster, a perfectly reasonable one, as a bit simple, or a simpleton is indeed abusive.

You seem to have realised rather late in the day that our PM is not to be trusted as far as you can chuck him. You see, to me, that was blindingly obvious. So what does that make you?
