Reports in the gazette that Saint Ettiene are encouraging offers from the Boro in the summer. I think he’s looked really good so far , stupid own goal aside, I think this lad can play. Think he would be a coup if we pulled it off permanently, I guess it’s a try before you buy situation which in our current situation is great.

I think we should try and extend the loan for another season, maybe adding a clause that we sign him on a permanent deal if he makes 30 appearances or more.

I always remember us signing Kenneth Omeruo on loan in the January window and he looked brilliant, then we extended the loan for another season and he struggled.

Think I'd like to see how Moukoudi performs over the course of a full season before we commit to signing him.

We have nothing to lose at the moment.

Judge him at the end of the season and if he's impressed us, then try strike a deal.

We will undoubtedly be in the market for a CB, especially if Ayala leaves.

On first impressions he has the attributes to make it in the English game. He's looked a little rusty at times - which can certainly be expected, but fingers crossed we've unearthed a gem(y)

I really didn't think it was that stupid - if he hadn't gone for it there was someone over his shoulder with a tap-in.

I agree he has to go for it but I think the cross didn’t have loads of pace on it, I think he could of judged it better and flicked it on backwards rather than power it towards goal/over the bar

The ball was floated in. He actually had time to control the ball with his chest and clear it but made the wrong decision in trying to clear it with his head.

Exactly, the cross was powderpuff he had much more time to adjust his body correctly than he thought

He doesn't seem to do 'subtle', and there are risks attached to that mindset. However I would possibly say the same of Ayala, and he would be the first on my teamsheet.

In many ways, Moukoudi seemed too good to be in the position he is in (coming on loan to us) and I did wonder whether he may be prone to an odd clanger here and there. Far too early to say though, and he's made an impressionable start, in a positive way.

he looks very very composed on the ball, at one point yesterday I was thinking this lads to good for the championship and then he absolutely wiped Moore out when he could of jockeyd him and was potentially last man and then the own goal and I was thinking ah this is why have got him. If he can iron out being a bit rash he’s got a big future at top level I would suggest. Excited to see more of him.

ha ha I had exactly the same thought! (y)

He is the most composed defender we have had in a long time, if we want to carry on evolving and playing progressive football by playing out from the back then he is exactly the type of defender we need. How many times does he cut through their midfield by absolutely smacking an accurate pass into a midfielders feet? That's how you move up the pitch effectively. Usually our centre halves either pass it to the full back or ping it long to absolute nobody.

His pass for the offside goal was perfect.

Yes that was the most impressive thing about his game for me, he was wrapping it into Morrison’s and Fletchers feet, and the ball down the line for Howson for the offside goal was beautiful. It’s a bit guttering that Roberts is out as I think Moukoudi would of been ideal for him with finding him with passes in little pockets of space

His passing was decent and he was good in the air, own goal aside. He made a couple of howlers though, not just the own goal. He tried to let the ball run out early on and let the striker nick in and had he made the right decision in his pass back would have been a definite goal. The OG came from a free kick he gave away needlessly on the halfway line because he was dribbling instead of playing a pass. He could have easily been sent off for the last man tackle and then there was the OG which was a bit of a shocker. There was some good stuff in there but far too many mistakes. Hopefully the mistakes die down and the good stuff outweighs it and we've got a decent player there. Despite all of the mistakes he was still better than fry wh

He'll learn, he was in tears at the end and had to be consoled by Woodgate. On the match highlights I noticed Wing and Fletcher ignore him when the handshakes were going on. I hope they'd already shaken hands before the TV pictures kicked in.

He lost the ball in midfield then scored the OG within 2 minutes
I think, then who am I, that he had time to control & clear the ball
He looks a good prospect, I'm not having a dig at him, or not meant to

So you're counting deflections as own goals now, well done you. I've just looked at the incident several times in the match highlights and there's no way he had time to control and clear the ball. The cross came in between him on the 6-yard line and the goal. He could have let the ball go and hope the Wigan player behind him missed it or hooked it clear with his boot, but that might have resulted in an own goal too. A bad goal to concede but I've seen far worse own goals.

I don't think it was a deflection, I think it was a classic Glenn Keeley OG
But good on you for getting excited

Own goal aside I'm not convinced by him yet, in fact far from it.

The best defenders look calm and assured (Woodgate for example) and he looks anything but when defending in his own box - he looks skittish and nervous. But he's a big lad and obviously athletic so needs a bit of time to settle before anyone can make a proper judgement.
