Yes because despite the claims on here about 'everyone knows the problem', in reality people keep voting Tory, and the Tories couldn't give a toss about real change because it hits them in the pocket.
So rather than decent long term policies benefitting all we get short term piecemeal projects where the cabinet buddies can filter of millions of pounds of public money.
There is no integrated transport policy, there is no scheme for individual households to create green energy (which would be a kick in the teeth for power companies, but go a decent way towards a cleaner environment), and as the protesters rightly say, no moves to insulate homes.
So we know the problem but don't want to address it. Our inability to act on what we see as a problem creates the ideal climate for the protest groups to emerge, and rather than invite them to the policy setting table, we label them 'the enemy'.
