Did anybody see this?

It was quite interesting - With Sajid Javed following up 10 minutes later. Good TV!!

Richard Madely said that there was NOT ONE message of support registered for her.

Wiseman, yes I did. She did have a handful of callers/emailers that did support her in the end. To me we should bring her back and put her on trial there again not sure what the outcome would be!

Hmm - I can see both sides of the argument. I don't really want her back here but when they are letting numerous other "fighters" back here, how is she a different case?

I would love to know more about what Sajid Javid knows: Re: the evidence given to the courts

A court case would bring out what Javid has on her. There is little doubt she is heavily promoting her Western appearance- some may view it as an attempt to integrate into Western life whilst others cynical manipulation.

She obviously hadn't seen her hair for a long time - she couldn't leave it alone!

I know what you mean re: a court case. It would be really interesting to see how that played out

Begum aside, the Government should not be able to remove someone's citizenship as and when they feel like it. That stinks.

I would bring her back and prosecute her. We have already let 100's of Brits back in who fought for ISIS, I don't know why she is any different.

Actually I do suspect why they are not letting her back in. She is too high profile and it would seriously backfire if the Government lost the court case. Allegedly it is really hard to get evidence to prosecute these people, I think the figure was 1 in 10 gets convicted.

Can you imagine the SCENES if they let her back in and lost the case. It would be a disaster for Patel and her already incompetent department.

I personally feel that it’s ok to dislike her, have reservations about whether she’s really changed and counter some of her apologists that are adamant she was groomed - maybe she was and her age is relevant, but she knew she was joining a raping death cult and her activities out there are certainly suspect. I’ve seen some really bad takes like imagining ourselves in her parents shoes watching their child be groomed, disappear and get trapped overseas, but I’d just counter that by suggesting people might want to put themselves in the shoes of all Yazidi parents whose children were horrifically murdered by the cult she skipped off to join.

All that said, I think she’s our problem and should face justice here.

Just saw the interview from the camp.
The previous argument and initial ruling was “that she should be allowed to return to the UKto make her case because she could not do so from a dangerous camp in northern Syria” my question is if she can do these interviews from the camp why is it that she can’t manage her case from there?

that’s a question that I’ve always had in my mind. I feel it’s a falsehood to suggest that she can’t.

(please note I’ve made my view clear on other threads about this subject and in balance I think she should come back.)

Personally, and I don’t even know why I’m replying on this subject, I don’t give a toss in what happens to her…

Ive no doubt she will be quietly let in eventually…

She's scum, but she's our problem and should be prosecuted and imprisoned here.

It's an abdication of duty to try and foist her on Bangladesh/Turkey/Syria.

I still have mixed feelings about this young lady. Her complete lack of remorse and empathy for the victims of the death cult she joined in that interview made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. So cold and blunted emotionally. She left Bethnal Green at the age of 15 to end up in Raqqa, a dirty, rat infested Hell on earth ghetto ( Very similar to Bethnal Green is now so I can see the attraction I suppose) No change there then. Ronnie and Reggie would turn in their graves.

I think all this clearly focused imagery of becoming a 'Westernised' girl is more a cynical ploy than anything. Next she will be into appearing on internet porn websites to further promote her new Western persona, in her desperate attempt try to make an impression she is a changed person. I still think of her age at the time of making probably the biggest mistake of her life, and think a second chance to come here and change her life could be a possibility to maybe teach others about the errors of her ways.

And yet because she has almost become such a 'Cause Celeb' for ISIS with her previous indoctrinated appearance and views the risk may be too high to take.

Out of pure interest, are there cases where crimes have been committed overseas and the perp has been brought back to their "home" country to face prosecution?

Lord Haw Haw would be a possible, but controversial example, as you could make a very convincing argument that he wasn’t British.
