Saltburn Pier

Rode over to Saltburn (daily exercise) earlier today and there were 2 couples walking along the Pier (separately). Surely pier hasn't been opened (if it had would have thought there would have been more people on it). Although I was on upper prom it looked to be middle aged couples, not young people who could have climbed over the railings?

It's never been closed as far as I've seen. The gate on the left is locked, but the other side is open.

Thanks Central, been over there a few times when exercising but always stayed on upper prom, not having seen anyone on there since lock-down just presumed it was closed.

I love the way people feel the need to have to justify on an Internet message board how and why they were in a particular place. I have just got back from looking at a water tower in Scotland.

Probably about 13 years ago I was back in the area and was staying at a mates flat in Saltburn. I think it was a Sunday night and we'd spent the night drinking in the town. The weather was nice and I asked if we could go down to the pier as I was missing home the roads were quiet and the tide was out
From the bottom we saw a few lads ,that we'd seen earlier that night in the pubs, bombing down Saltburn bank on tea-trays without a care in the world.
To this day it's stuck in my mind as a mental think to do albeit one that at the time had me bent over laughing.
