Nathaniel Mendez-Laing

To be fair to Watmore, he spent his first few seasons as a youngster who’d come from non league to playing in the premier league for a team battling relegation.

Then he spent the next few seasons injured and making sporadic appearances for a team plummeting through the leagues.

What they managed last season! 11 between them - and neither have been prolific in their career.
Who managed 11 between them? We're not playing last season, but if you want to..

We're up to 49 goals already. Warnock has said he is brining in another TWO Strikers and looking at TWO south Americans. Surely we'll manage 15 goals between 4 new attacking players.

Michael Smith managed 10 last season..

Ameobi--Ikpeazu--Watmore is a solid front three and scored a total of 18 between them last season bearing in mind that Watmore was playing without a target man, Ikpeazu was playing for a struggling Wycombe team and Ameobi wasn't given as much of an attacking as we are going to be.

4 5 1
Johnson--Akpom--Mendez-Laing scored a total of 10 between them.

I think we are stronger right now than when we started last season

Lumley/James

Dijksteel/Howson
Fry/Wood
Hall/Bamba
Bola/Peltier

McNair/Payero
Morsy/Crooks

Tavernier/Sivi
Wing/Coulson
Watmore/Spence

Ikpeazu/Ameobi

We could easily bring in 3 or 4 more players before the window shuts.
Add Stojanovic to that as it stands. I think a decent back up keeper. He’s still here and training, if he moves on we need to bring an experienced back up in. Anything happens to Lumley we are very thin on the ground with two young lads. And One will go out on loan again.

I thought Orjan Nyland would have been a decent shout tbh. Sol Brynn will go out on loan imo. Does Brad James fancy challenging Joe Lumley?

Morsy at 1mil is a superb signing. I genuinely think we missed him the final 6 weeks when injured.

To think we paid 14mil for Sav and Howson. I would say 1mil for Morsy is decent business.

The one thing that winds me up a bit is Boro's recent (not just Warnock) loan signings. We've had some right duffers who either get crocked or simply don't play or improve us.

I can't think of many loans that have improved us. We must be able to identify a young gem who can have a Ben White / Mason Mount type effect. We did it with Bamford when he was at Chelsea (also Kakas and Big Ken).

49 goals over a 46 League game season - surely you are not putting this figure up to be impressed by? It’s not enough - pure and simple

You’re failing to grasp that we still have two strikers to come in and probably a couple of wingers too!

So you’d be looking for 27 goals from 4 players

Paul Mullin scored 32 goals last season, Michael Smith scored 10 for Rotherham, Jed Wallace 11 for Millwall and Nick Powell got 12 for Stoke. Would you expect a 65 goal return from them next season if they signed for us?

Rodrigo Muniz is down as only scoring 3 goals (in 9 games) the kid looks the part and would be a different type of player to Ikpeazu. Josh Maja returned 5 goals last season for two clubs. Taking into consideration that they were in Ligue 1 and the Premier League I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad return. He’s easily a 1 in 3 striker in the championship.

There’s lots of talk about Kadeem Harris and Junior Holliet which is a pretty easy link to make being ex Warnock players. That being said NML and Bolasie have still not found clubs.

The moral of the story? We’re gonna be alright, I’m pretty sure we can bring in four stacking players capable of scoring 27 goals between them.

He played under Warnock at Cardiff and had roughly half a season with us. I guess we saw enough to not give him a deal.

We don't see what goes on in training and attitude etc. He's maybe just not the same player after everything that's happened.

Strange one. After missing so much football due to his ban you’d think he’d be desperate to play. We offered him the chance to train with us in pre-season and earn a contract but he turned it down. In fact, if I remember correctly Warnock said he didn’t even get a reply from him.
