Labour Party purge/staff cuts.

Time for the unions to chop the legs off the party machine and help to set up a new left of centre, worker's party free from the fifth columnists. The establishment would really start worrying then.

The point about factions and division rather than unity against the common enemy is lived out for all to see on here. I don’t understand half of it and don’t care . Labour is a party not a plaything God help the really unfortunate in society left exposed and unsupported against the monstrous Johnson and his elitist army.

I think some folk think the Labour Party is theirs alone.

Yearning for former leaders will not result in anything positive.

About 13% of private workers are in a union, 52% of state workers. There is no (can't think of the word) for a left wing party.

We have been out of power for over a decade. Blair had the right balance, Starmer has to have a big win, if that's the left jumping ship so be it.

Lefty seems to understand where we are, which is not Clause 4.

We just need to win. The left have to stop asking for the 1940's sweet shop

Well such a move would guarantee the tories power for decades in truth. You need to understand the majority of the electorate that vote then put policies in place they like otherwise you are eternally shouting from the shadows.

Cummings was actually right, we need political change and to break the 2 party system. PR is the only way forward for me.

You can't unite the far left, they only care that you aren't left enough. They would rather the Tories - even this current far right lot ffs! - were in power than compromise and accept the vast majority of people of this country are not far left, but sensibly moderate.

Can only speak for myself but I'd be very happy to compromise. The trouble is there's no compromise on offer from Starmer. Corbyn out, RLB out, the policies are out. Outflanked to the left by the tories ffs on nurses pay and corporation tax. It's embarrassing.

Also for what it's worth...

Tony Blair: “Let me make my position clear: I wouldn’t want to win on an old-fashioned leftist platform. Even if I thought it was the route to victory, I wouldn’t take it.”

Mandleson: “Why do you want to just walk away and pass the title deeds of this great party over to someone like Jeremy Corbyn? I don’t want to, I resent it, and I work every single day in some small way to bring forward the end of his tenure in office.

Party staff in the leaked document on election night in 2017 when they saw Corbyn had managed to win enough seats to take the tories majority:

08/06/2017, 22:24 – Julie Lawrence: Patrick if anyone in war room needs some safe space time they can come to gso .

08/06/2017, 22:25 – Tracey Allen: More like in need of counselling!

08/06/2017, 22:41 – Emilie Oldknow: What’s the atmosphere like there?

08/06/2017, 22:41 – Simon Mills: Depends which side of the building!

08/06/2017, 22:41 – Patrick Heneghan: Awful

08/06/2017, 22:41 – Patrick Heneghan: Help

08/06/2017, 22:42 – Simon Mills: Split between euphoria and shock

08/06/2017, 22:42 – Julie Lawrence: We are stunned and reeling.

08/06/2017, 22:45 – Tracey Allen: They are cheering and we are silent and grey faced. Opposite to what I had been working towards for the last couple of years!! 😞

08/06/2017, 22:46 – Emilie Oldknow: We have to be upbeat

08/06/2017, 22:46 – Emilie Oldknow: And not show it

08/06/2017, 22:47 – Emilie Oldknow: And at least we have loads of money now…

08/06/2017, 22:47 – Julie Lawrence: Not if we go into coalition and lose short money

08/06/2017, 22:47 – Julie Lawrence: “Steve” walking the floor

08/06/2017, 22:48 – Emilie Oldknow: Oh no

08/06/2017, 22:48 – Patrick Heneghan: Everyone needs to smile

08/06/2017, 22:48 – Patrick Heneghan: I’m going into room of death

08/06/2017, 22:48 – Emilie Oldknow: Everyone needs to be very up beat

08/06/2017, 22:48 – Julie Lawrence: Its hard but yes

08/06/2017, 22:52 – Iain McNicol: I’m not in smiling and mixing and doing the 2nd floor.

08/06/2017, 22:53 – Iain McNicol: Everyone else needs to do the same.

08/06/2017, 22:53 – Iain McNicol: It is going to be a long night.

And then here's Corbyn on the day of the local elections 2 months ago, 6 months after he was kicked out of the party by Starmer.

Corbyn: "Proud to vote Labour today for a kinder, fairer, more sustainable world."

Simple people like me - uncomplicated always voted Labour because they were for the many not the few and appealed to my Christian social Democrat principles are simply baffled by the in party fighting.
I've supported every Labour leader since my teenage years.

Labour would be much more effective in opposition if all left leaning folk did likewise.

Nice sentiments but let's be honest, the main problem with disunity isn't the members or supporters. It's the MPs.

Apologies. I'll make myself a little clearer. Time for the unions to chop the legs off the fifth columnists and blow their heads off at the same time. No going back.
UK PLC needs radical solutions to help heal this fractured isle. This is a basket-case nation being pulled apart by English nationalism. I utterly despise the Tories and everything they stand for, and everyone who enables them. Utter p*ss stains.

Demand? Desire? Call? Purpose? Audience?

Trade Union membership has increased 4 years in a row in the UK. Nationalising rail and utilities always poll majority support even among tory voters.

I think there's room in the UK for a good left wing parliamentary party.
