Tell me

Toilet Roll
No such thing! What ever you pay for loo roll it has to meet the thickness test. With cheaper rolls you simply use more of it until you are satisfied your finger won't go through. You use the roll quicker.... False economy

‘renowned makes’ tend to need more repairs and their more expensive. Historically not but becoming more the case now
False. Just premium cars tend to have more fancy gadgets and gizmos. For example the Mercedes c class a had had one failure. A rear door handle courtesy light failed. How many cars even have them?

Beers (especially lager)
Spirits
Peanut butter (not necessarily wont buy cheap, but has to be 100% peanuts)
Meat (apart from maybe chicken)
Hiking / camping gear

‘How many cars even have them’ tells you everything you need to know. Gimmick cars

Huh?

That's an odd response. It happens to be a fact. These days people buy premium cars partly because of the tech they have. Also build quality too.
If premium cars all had better build quality than cheaper ones then why don't they offer warranties like Kia's 7 year one?
Just because something is more expensive doesn't always mean it's better. A more expensive car might have more kit but who cares about a courtesy light on a door handle? It serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever and I say that because my Octavia has lights underneath the wind mirrors that shine a tiny bit of light on the floor in the dark.

On the subject of the thread I'm a tight **** so I ain't really fussed but definitely not a fan of roller cola.

Wall Plugs
Golf Balls
Climbing Rope
Coffee
Lager (anything the same level or worse than Carling, Fosters, Carlsberg and it's just not worth it)

You say tech, I say gimmick. It’s fine we see it differently. That’s how Consumerism works. They’ll be things I consume that you wouldn’t see i suppose

I see a car as a to b.

I think it's better engines, gearbox (certainly for Autos), design, materials, performance, prestige etc, rather than reliability, it is for me anyway. I don't care about reliability as I rarely own cars out of warranty.
Most people, companies, business owners buying a new Audi/ BMW etc aren't keeping it for 7 years, they're probably swapping it after 2-5 years, the length of most leases, PCP's or finance deals. People buying a £500 banger have different ideas about a car than someone spending 200k, and there's loads in-between.

Kia use cheaper parts, materials, labour, garages etc, so cheaper fixes, basically a cheaper warranty, but longer, effectively worth similar value I reckon.
Pricier cars basically have more stuff that can go wrong, and the laws of probability say that's going to work against you.
